Dolly Parton once described the Smokies as “one of those special places that God put here for us to enjoy.”
At Great Smoky Mountains National Park’s 75th anniversary celebration in 2009, she sang about that special place in “My Mountains, My Home.”

RT @GovBillLee: This weekend, the Tennessee State Capitol will be lit pink in honor of Dolly Parton.
Thankful for the partnership of @CSe…
Let’s get this done ! @WilliamLamberth and @SenJohnson ! 🦋🦋🦋

An apt day to remember that Dolly Parton once recorded a cover of Stairway to Heaven - and, in defiance of every moral law in the universe, she absolutely owned it.

As the sun sets over our Tennessee mountain home, we're grateful for a supporter of the Smokies who has always carried these mountains in her heart. 🌄💛Thank you, Dolly, for sharing your love for the Great Smoky Mountains with the world.
Honor your father and mother …if only I could kiss my parents again. If you still have them here on this earth, cherish them every day! ❤️
For incoming freshmen at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, it's hard to imagine a more mortifying tradition on first-day dropoff: All the seniors surround their cars and don't let them out until they do one specific thing – give their mothers a goodbye kiss.
@SteveHartmanCBS reports on how a tradition of senior pranks turned into a show of thanks, and an emotional milestone for kids and their parents.

I could say the same for your guy and team. Politics are gross. It is unbelievable that we are all in the same party🤦🏼♀️Stop smearing this Marine veteran. I have his 87+ pages of OMPF (military records) He served honorably. Washington Examiner is a worthless rag. They do not have his records!

TN Statehouse 45 Race is seeing typical down & dirty primary antics.
Those of us in TN… meh, we used to it, pretty much know & respect all the players, and frankly, will probably be fighting together in the same trench, around the corner. That’s just Tennessee. 🤷♀️
I suspect what D45 folks are most interested in, are the things that actually affects at our kitchen tables — Especially this year!! Folks are stressing back to school supply shopping, on top of groceries. Let’s face it… 2026 so far has alternated between weird & hard. 🧐
Lemme say up front — it’s not my district, so I really don’t care who wins… well that’s not true - I care as far as who I don’t want to see win… the perineal dude who’s always running for summin 🤦♀️
That said… I don’t care. I have no dog in the fight. I wish the other candidates positive vibes. I sincerely hope they speak to & reach actual Tn45, MainStreet voters.
But I do care that bcz it’s @PeteHegseth district, folks are making it all about military service vs constituent services…
Bottom line…
The WashExaminer’s Brian Stewart stories being bantered around are not reflecting a full and accurate story. VSO was contacted for assist & the entire 87 page, unredacted file was pulled.
Mr. Stewart released the entire, unredacted file to @GretchenPSmith for a full veteran vetting. Additionally his OMPF was reviewed by a professional and it was determined the unit violated DODI guidance as well as USMC Guidance - moreover the violation was observed & acknowledged by the 24th Marine Regiment Staff and annotated in the report.
So you see, there is way more to the story. Now, would I rather not see mailers with pics of the flag being raised over Iwo Jima, circa February 23, 1945 (long before Stewart was a glimmer in his Daddy’s eye)… of course. That’s highly inappropriate and frankly, among those who’s Fathers served in that War, it borders on sac religious. Don’t do that. Seriously. Not cool. But I remember that PAC mailers are in no way coordinated with candidates in TN. That’s a no no. 🤷♀️
Folks may say, ‘well he should condemn it’ and my knee jerk reaction would be to agree. Then I’d have to pause & remember… this is TN primary politics & there’s still, potentially, a General Election to go. Not smart to go around biting the hands of supporters. So there’s a catch 22.
Folks might say, ‘we’ll just release the file’ and again, you would find me agree. Mr. Stewart did that, via a known Veteran Advocate that we all know & trust, particularly in TN. Moreover, given that document corrections is the first goal, public tits for tats would be both premature & unprofessional.
Lastly, in my observations & questioning Mr. Stewart, I have found him to be forthcoming, honest, and genuine, in this matter. I don’t say that about too many folks (as those who post with me know… I’m naturally suspicious)
So, I dunno… what do you think?
I’m willing to back up. I never want to trash anyone, let alone someone who is legitimately a veteran.

As a retired CW5 and 100% service-connected disabled veteran with over 28 years of active duty service, I’ve helped hundreds of veterans navigate complex issues with their records. I don’t usually get involved in political campaigns, but when Brian Stewart reached out, I reviewed his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF).
Here are the facts:
Brian received an Honorable discharge from his active duty service with the Marine Corps. He is a Marine veteran who served honorably.
During a training exercise, Mr. Stewart was involved in a training incident that affected his medical standing with the USMC Reserve. He was treated by a corpsman on the spot but was never properly evaluated or cleared by military medical professionals, despite not being considered fit for full duty until he received that clearance. He later developed a serious medical condition that required surgery. He kept his chain of command informed, yet the unit failed to provide appropriate administrative support.
His subsequent administrative separation from the Marine Corps Reserve was grossly mishandled. The Marine Corps’ own records explicitly state that the separation package was submitted late due to administrative negligence at the Company Inspector-Instructor level, and that this was compounded by a lack of adequate supervisory controls and review at the Battalion level for over six months.
This recent attack mischaracterizes his service and relies on incomplete information. It is unfair to a veteran who served his country and is now being targeted with half-truths.
I stand by the record. Brian Stewart is a Marine who served honorably during his active duty period. The circumstances surrounding his administrative separation from the Reserves deserve full context — not political attacks.

.@FLOTUS @MELANIATRUMP announced the expansion of the @WhiteHouse honey program with the addition of a newly installed and fully functioning beehive on the South Lawn.
Hand-crafted by a local artisan in the image of the White House, the beautiful, new hive will add two new bee colonies to the existing two colonies that already produce the signature White House honey. 🍯 🐝
