dressing up as SBF this halloween so i can tell people i invested in anthropic for an 8% stake that could be worth $50 billion today
not hating on ethereum:0x232ce3bd40fcd6f80f3d55a522d03f25df784ee2, I want to see them win, but not having a bag is probably why i can't see how the unlock pressure coming up wont result in negative price action
> unlocks start late Jan
> roughly 14m a month
> ~166m a year
> landing on a float of around 235m
> circulating supply grows ~70% in 2027 alone
Q3’s burn was 2.45m LIT for the entire quarter and each monthly unlock is over 5x that so the burn won’t cover it
staking and buy backs are unlikely to absorb this at current rates
Q3 sent $8.55m to buybacks. at todays price the vest is roughly $125m a quarter, so buy backs would need to grow ~15x for the burn alone to keep up
team and insider diamond hands coupled with sustained retail buys will have to be significant to maintain price
most team answers to this issue so far are just reassurances that investors are committed and alluding to OTC deals/new strategic investors if needed, none of which is material yet
lots of bull points though:
> CFTC licence requests planned for November (earliest realistic yes is summer 2027)
> $137b of volume in Q3 and top 2 by daily perp volume right now (4th by OI)
> distribution most DEXs would kill for (Robinhood Wallet (outside US for now), Telegram Wallet with 150m+ registered users)
> they take almost nothing per trade (0.8 bps) so there’s room to charge more if they ever need to
> every LIT they buy back now gets burned
question is whether that + diamond hands is enough to maintain price

The master of talking a lot while doing little
No wonder CT accepts him as a leader now
“Now we’re spending a lot of time in how to make Robinhood Chain even bigger, how to support the community, we know we’ve been hearing from a lot of builders that we could be doing more to support the community, and I think you should expect us to really ramp that up.” - @vladtenev on Robinhood Chain
Hmm… Thinking it’s obvious everyone should be more bullish 🤔

Never ask when pump fun launches airdrop.
And Opensea.
Or why Rabby has points.
And what happened to Metamask token.
Or when Base finishes 'exploring' a token.
But for sure, don't ask about Polymarket airdrop when IPOs are TradFi's wet dream.
At least we know one thing for CERTAIN:
the next $HYPE airdrop is coming.

trader: finds a $50 outside of a starbucks once, at 5am
trader: spends the rest of his life waking up at 5am hoping to find another $50 outside of the starbucks
There is a trader that read this, immediately shorted $ETH, and then also made money.

Hedge Fund Manager David Orr (@orrdavid) on why he’ll back a delivery guy over a Harvard grad, as long as the track record is real.
David Orr runs Militia Capital, a ~$480M hedge fund. ~50% annualized, Sharpe 2.
“If you didn’t go to Harvard, they’re not going to give you money. They’re gonna lead you on for years.”
We cover:
- Edge is just reps. He's placed a few hundred independent bets every year since 2019, more in one year than a lot of hedge fund managers get in a decade.
- The two-hour rule: if he can't decide on a stock in an hour or two, he skips it. When a trade goes against him, he quits. "The market said I'm wrong, I'm wrong."
- 500 positions in his partition and zero notes. Some of his best shorts are down 40% and he's forgotten what the company does.
- The Gogo lesson: he spent 100 hours on a short and was right on the fundamentals (it's now $2), but it ripped to $20 first. All that research made him stubborn on the way up.
- The AI risk system: it groups the book into custom baskets like "Banks Done Right" and "yield traps," recalculated daily. A 25% bet can quietly become 45% in two weeks.
- How Militia recruits PMs: 95% of track records are junk, and one cherry-picker ran 30 accounts and sent the best one. The PMs who make it include a game show winner, a Spanish government worker and a programmer, with 0.15 cross-correlation.
- The best short seller in the world, quietly: 40% a year short only for years, and he still gets a tiny allocation at his fund.
- Why multi-managers' real business is marketing. Collect $2B a year in fees on $100B and it's "mission accomplished," whatever the returns.
- The long/short tax trick: harvest losses on losing shorts, and never cover one that's down 90%. No tax is due until it's delisted, which can take 10 years.
- $150M raised from one email asking LPs for $100M. He says he could raise a billion but won't, and admits they "must have gotten at least somewhat lucky."
- His AI stock map: hyperscalers locked customers into take-or-pay deals at ~35% return on capital. If compute prices crash 80%, the end customers get wiped out, not the hyperscalers.
- Is investing 99% talent? For big alpha, almost entirely. Pod shop alpha is teachable, maybe for 1 in 50 people rather than 1 in 10,000.
