We're the Next.js team. Ask us anything!
We recently shipped Next.js 16.3, and we’re excited to talk about what’s new, how we approached the release, where we are going, and what we’ve learned while building and maintaining Next.
Ask us anything about Next 16.3, App Router, React Server Components, performance, caching, upgrading your applications, contributing to the framework, or what it’s like to work on Next.js.

Really excited to finally share what we've been building at @assert_labs .
My team and I have spent the past few months rethinking what code review should feel like in a world where both humans and AI are writing code. It's been a ton of work, but seeing it finally out in the open is incredibly rewarding.
If you spend your days reviewing PRs, I'd love for you to give it a try - and please send us feedback! I'd genuinely love to hear what you think.
We're just getting started. Lots more to come!
Introducing Assert (assert.dev): the command center for reviewing engineering work
Watch me review a new feature with Assert's product diff: a UI generated by our agent using mock data. It has completely changed how we work
Next.js 16.3 is now available!
• Up to 90% less memory in dev
• Faster builds, type checking, and rendering

I've been a part of working on Instant Insights: when a navigation isn't instant, the dev overlay tells you exactly why and shows you how to fix it, Stream, Cache, or Block.
Replying to @nextjs
Instant Insights gives you options for how to make a navigation instant:
• Stream the data behind a <𝚂𝚞𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚜𝚎> boundary
• Cache the data with '𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚌𝚊𝚌𝚑𝚎'
Or allow the navigation to Block with 𝚎𝚡𝚙𝚘𝚛𝚝 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚝 𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚝 = 𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚜𝚎.
Next.js 16.3 Preview: Instant Navigations
A new suite of tools that brings the responsiveness of client-driven SPAs to Next.js, without giving up what Server Components do best. The speed of the server, with the feel of the client.
Try it and tell us what you think ↓

View Transitions just got simpler with Next.js 16.2.
<𝙻𝚒𝚗𝚔> now has a 𝚝𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚃𝚢𝚙𝚎𝚜 prop. Tag your navigation with a type, and <𝚅𝚒𝚎𝚠𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗> picks the right animation.

Next.js is for everyone
Next.js 16.2 introduces a stable Adapter API, built with Netlify, Cloudflare, OpenNext, AWS, and Google Cloud. But the API is only part of the story.
Next.js is used by millions of developers across every major cloud, and making it work well everywhere is on us. Here are our commitments.

Adapters are now stable!
A typed versioned description of the built Next.js application that platforms can use to deploy Next.js.
We've also published how to run the Next.js test suite for platforms, allowing platforms teams to continuously run the latest Next.js test suite.

𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚝-𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚛-𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚊𝚛𝚢 is great for declarative error handling, but it breaks with Server Components: it swallows 𝚗𝚘𝚝𝙵𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍() and 𝚛𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚝(), and 𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚝() can't re-fetch server data.
Next.js 16.2 𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚌𝚑𝙴𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚛: framework-aware, 𝚛𝚎𝚝𝚛𝚢() re-fetches RSC data, and internal errors propagate correctly.
