President @officialABAT Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s fulfilment of his $100,000 (approximately ₦140 million) reward pledge to each member of the Super Falcons @NGSuper_Falcons following their historic 10th WAFCON triumph deserves prominent newspaper headlines and should be a major talking point in sports discussions across the country.
This is unprecedented in Nigeria’s sporting history. The scale of the reward sends a strong message about recognising, celebrating and adequately rewarding sporting excellence.
President Tinubu’s administration has made significant financial commitments to Nigerian athletes, and this latest gesture towards the Super Falcons is another major statement of support for the sports industry.
This should be trending !!!!

Ilorin is where my chess story started. It is the place where I found true love in this strange game. Shout out to all my sparring partners in the old days - Yinka Ayinde, Anthony, the guys at Deluxe Entertainment, Wole and IBB, Taiye Abu, Dr. Lukman Adegboye, Oga Lawi, Babajide Tinubu, the three AYs, Karikatalk and so on. You all made me stronger and I remember.
It was heartwarming to return home to play in the Sardauna Open Chess Championship. Winning this one was nice, but it was the memories that came flooding back that made me sentimental.

ANOTHER EPISODE OF “JOURNALISM WILL TAKE YOU PLACES.”
This time? It’s the Land of Teranga.
I arrived in Senegal earlier today to cover the first-ever Olympic event to be held on African soil.
I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be reporting the Games for Olympics.com and leading the content team for the International Wushu Federation (IWUF).
But that’s not all!
As usual, I’ll also be bringing African stories and perspectives to the forefront through my work with the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) and my organisation, Made In Africa Sport (@madeinafricaweb).
As per everybody must chop: I am still on the lookout for more collaborations, don’t be left out (it’s bad for business).
Are you a media organisation, content platform or anyone looking for exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes content, analysis, recaps, features or any other content from the Games?
My DMs are open. Let’s make magic and create something memorable.
Africa welcomes. Dakar celebrates. And I am here to document it!
Pays de la Terangaaaaaaa.

November 28, 2026, is confirmed for the opening ceremony of the National Sports Festival, in Enugu State.
Following our joint decision with Governor Peter Mbah @PNMbah, NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko @ShehuDikko and the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, we are intensifying preparations to deliver the festival as scheduled.
The transformation of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium is one to look forward to. By the time athletes and stakeholders arrive in Enugu, they will see a stadium transformed from what they have always known.
We are also making concrete progress with logistics. More than 10,000 foams, pillows and bedsheets have been procured, feeding funds are ready for release, and sporting equipment is already being procured.
For us at NSC @NatSportsComm, this is about more than fixing a date. It is about ensuring our athletes have the facilities, accommodation, feeding and support they deserve to compete and give their best.
Enugu, get ready! Nigeria's sporting community is coming, and we are committed to making the Coal City Games a memorable festival.

Dakar 2026 is a historic opportunity for our young athletes to make Nigeria proud and inspire the next generation.
As we send off Team Nigeria, my charge is simple: compete with pride, uphold our values and make every opportunity count. Through our grassroots programmes like the Invited Junior Athletes (IJA), we are building the next generation of champions.
With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s @officialABAT commitment to youth development, we are investing in athletes who can fly Nigeria’s flag today and rise to the global stage at LA28.
Go to Dakar, make history and return as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria. 🇳🇬
