I’m happy to be involved with Foxes Trust, and if you are a fan of Leicester City and haven’t joined yet, please do. Our survey, launched at the weekend, has had 2121 responses as of a few moments ago. Please complete that, too 🦊🦊🦊
🦊 In challenging times, it’s crucial that we supporters have an organisation that can represent us and engage with our club to demand better. The Foxes Trust is growing. The more members we have, the stronger our voice and the clearer we can be in representing all supporters.

The irony of the whole Trump bad edit thing is that his speeches do not need dodgy editing to make him sound like a deranged man child. He can do that all by himself, most days.

What on earth is a ‘radical far centrist organisation’? The BBC and NHS are two of our country’s most glorious organisations. That does not mean they are immune from criticism. But it does not mean the Telegraph and its correspondents should seek to demean them both incessantly.
“It is in the DNA of the BBC to be impartial,” says Chairman Samir Shah. Ask campaigners for women’s spaces how impartial it is. Ask Jews. Ask any Tory voter or person with common sense views. The BBC is a radical Far Centrist organisation pretending to be mainstream.

This is something I blather on about to anyone who will listen. Part of the government’s problem is its total inability to present a motivational overarching narrative. It should be this: that this government aims to have the world’s leading education system within ten years

There is so much bias, so much opinion when it comes to reporting the Israel/Gaza conflict. The BBC receives loads of criticism. This report from BBC Middle East correspondent Lucy Williamson seems, to me, extraordinarily balanced. And terribly sad bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0rp…

So use AI to review the previous detailed reports into the future of social care, and produce a new report and recommendations by the end of this week, rather than 2028
AI is going to transform our economy and society. With our AI Opportunities Action Plan, we will be in the driving seat of innovation, boosting growth and prosperity. And we'll ensure that the technology benefits everyone from every part of the country, equally. @bbclaurak

Every. Single. Word.
I couldn't love Rory Kinnear, more. He is just so clear on what should be done to help people like my disabled daughter, which in turn would help the rest of our family and the Treasury. Simplify & deliver. Thank you @ayeshahazarika for inviting him on to your show @wesstreeting

Every now and again I read something on Twitter/x that reminds me of how it can be a force for good and understanding
Part of the damage trauma does to our nervous system is, it makes it difficult to feel something as simple as relief when an immediate stressor abates-- because our brain is convinced that letting ourselves relax or feel even momentary relief makes us vulnerable.

So eloquent
Oliver Bromley has Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), which causes tumours to grow in the nervous system and skin. He was turned away by restaurant staff because he was 'scaring customers' - a hate crime. He tells @skysarahjane his story. 📱 trib.al/Ldqpoo4 📺Sky 501

I think this is a 100% accurate assessment of the state of the NHS, and our responsibility to cherish it, help ourselves where we can, and mend social care
My own view, for what it’s worth, is that the NHS is broken in places. It does extraordinary work and offers an extraordinary service to many very sick people, a good enough service to many more and a frankly not good enough service for maybe 10%. The trouble is, when it fails, it can fail catastrophically and then be covered up for many years, which leads to endless public inquiries whose recommendations are never implemented, and all we end up with is a massive regulation and legal bill that makes a fortune for the regulators and the litigators, but doesn’t actually improve the service or stop the same mistakes happening again. We need mandatory safe staffing and skill mix levels, starting in the most critical specialties such as maternity, intensive care, emergency care and neonatal care. And we also need the equipment and facilities to allow people to receive first class care in an emergency department, rather than a corridor. And we also need a big investment in community services and public health to stop people getting sick in the first place. And let’s give social care the attention it deserves. So instead of obsessing about how broken NHS is, we need to pull together, help fix it and take as much responsibility as we reasonably can for staying well.

I’ve been boring on about the need for a Labour government forever. So disappointed that one of the first actions of leadership was to think ‘ooh yes, I’ll have some free stuff’. Just think, and be better than that. Please.

Proof that voting Conservative really is not good for you health
Replying to @Dylan_Difford
Other noticeable elements: - 3m of Reform's 4.1m voters voted Tory in 2017 and/or 2019, while 750k had voted Labour at least once - Similarly, 55% of Green voters chose Labour in either 2017 or 2019 - The Tories have lost around 2.25m voters to death over the last two parliaments

This story has a happy ending. The family launched a go fundme to raise £20,000 for the equipment needed. This morning they’d raised £5000. This evening they have £28,000 after 1000 donations. Important article by @oliver_slow. There are many more Taylor’s across the country
Taylor Crowe’s mother is fundraising for a specialised enclosed bed at the family home as well as a portable one bbc.in/3X2kyKW

A thread that reminds us what makes Great Britain
Just wanted to share quickly how lovely yesterday felt in Southport; a total contrast to the night before. 🧵 The mosque and people’s garden walls were rebuilt by builders and bricklayers volunteering their time and labour:

This is disappointing to say the least. @AngelaRayner and @wesstreeting, here’s hoping you will offer a much needed sense of optimism for those of us working in and reliant upon social care. What’s the plan?
Andrew Dilnot, architect of the social care cap, tells @theipaper he is "staggered" by the "breathtaking" decision to abandon the cap and warns of "unbearable uncertainty" for those in care. Story by @joeduggan1: inews.co.uk/news/social-care…
