I’m gathering that healthcare reform happens in three stages, but sorta all at once bc of AI: 1) removing admin 2) removing middlemen/rent-seekers 3) replacing providers Ultimately, it’s insurers, care groups and the government left. Reduced costs via job losses.
Congrats to the Tennr team on the $18M Series A! Tennr (YC W23) uses powerful home-grown AI models that allow healthcare suppliers and practices to grow by automating the painfully manual work it takes to move patients through the healthcare system. forbes.com/sites/davidprosse…

Thanks for all the wisdom. RIP.

Ehhhh I worked with the eng teams on the models and built/maintained the calculators. I was always shocked at how far people would go to test out the estimates. I doubt they do it in their IC cars. reuters.com/investigates/spe…

Rosy? Sure. Criminal? Meh. Besides battery chemistry, air is denser in the cold and v^2 in the drag eq means even 5mph can have a big impact. I bet those big, boxy Rivians get nowhere near the estimates. Teslas at least have very low Cd.

If I were a better programmer, I’d make an “Elon or Trump” quote game.
Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?

Counterpoint: the world is increasingly financialized and data-driven, thus people mostly make variations on a popular theme that makes money. Same with movies. Risk ⬇️, money ⬆️
Every aspect of our world is just getting dumber.

New Twitter’s content strategy seems to have taken a page out of Howard Stern’s book. I don’t care what you call me so long as you call me.

“Heterodox” is the new “contrarian”, which was the new “unpopular opinion”. Keep up folks.
Twitter won't last forever. Nothing does. But whatever motivation ends up driving a successful "next Twitter," it's unlikely to be the fear that Elon will start allowing people to say heterodox things on the original Twitter.
I see a lot of VCs generally positive on Twitter and I think this is why: Elon’s est. $1.7b annual debt expense forces him to operate a large tech platform with the sort of extreme financial discipline the valley hasn’t seen in 15+ yrs. It’s a fantastic live biz case.

Imagine, you’ve been in restructuring your entire career, overseen several blockbuster bankruptcies and think you’ve seen it all. Then you get to FTX. This dude’s having the time of his life.

Here are the 12 best ways to say you don’t have an opinion
Reminder: You don't need to have an opinion on everything. It's perfectly reasonable to have no opinion on something that you haven't researched or don't understand.
TLDR your neighborhood coffee shop has better internal controls. SBF purposefully left little paper trail for day-to-day comms, yet used unsecured email for private keys. Can’t claim it was “for security” given that. Dude was trying to conceal.
I just read FTX's Chapter 11 First Day Affidavit. In it, the appointed restructuring CEO John Jay Ray III, who oversaw Enron's bankruptcy proceedings, calls FTX's case the worst of his career. Its contents are shocking. Here are the highlights: 👇
TLDR forensic accountants and law firms are gonna bill SO MANY hours. Also, guessing they’ll find a lot of embezzlement and missing funds. Unfortunately plenty of time to cover tracks since they all wrote the code too. CTO was checking in code the whole time.
FTX situation is worse than Enron, according to the guy who was in charge of the Enron resolution and has now been installed at FTX.
Building generative AI products as a standalone *seems* like a commodified, losing proposition. Distribution alone isn’t a moat. Bundling into a workflow like Notion or Grammarly (or an API) seems stickier: notion.so/blog/introducing-n…

In a high-rate environment, most VC will go to pure software plays. But these pure GAI businesses have fairly low barriers to entry since the models are widely available. Low barriers + high margins = big funding = big competition Great for consumers. Shit for investors.

But I know so little about AI that maybe I’m massively wrong. It’s just a 🚩 when you see so many products emerge with nearly the same feature set. My guess is you’ll soon start seeing a lot of “we’re a writing assistant for X”, where X = doctors, police, etc.
Since Kanye is living in 2030, can someone ask him how this election turns out?
On one hand, Hanlon’s Razor seems pretty appropriate for a bunch of young folks blowing up multi-billion $ businesses, let alone ones as complex as a crypto exchange/hedge fund. On the other hand, knowing your exposure is, like, THE job. And also they misused customer funds.

On the other other hand, when an obviously smart person claims to be dumb, you have to wonder about the incentives. In this case, dumb = maybe jail, while smart = much jail. I’d probably play the idiot card, too.
