Mutual aid needed.
As a disabled person, my income leaves me $1000 short of the poverty line. I’m completely tapped out and need immediate help covering food, bills, and my wishlist. Please donate or boost if you can't.

The amount of stress unpaid bills induce is beyond overwhelming. Every single one of them is for a necessity not becuz of frivolous spending or poor budgeting. When the cost of basic necessities exceeds ur income by $1000+ each month; you lose your ability keep up #RaiseTheRates

The government of Canada just proved that the government can move mountains when they really want to help Canadians
Today during the closing proceedings of the House of Common Bill c 222 Evan's Law was magically passed through the three phases of the House of Commons readings 1, 2 & 3 so it can be voted into law tomorrow after question period. The government specifically chose a low attended time slot in the House of Commons to do this and there was no debate on this matter.
Meaning the government is spending more budget money to increase Employment Insurance for people who have lost a child
Yet the same government since 2020 has done nothing but left people with disabilities in financial destitution despite letters from MPs, disability organizations and the public petitions demanding immediate increased funding for these people.
The government did create anew federal disability benefit but the benefit does not resemble the current Senior Benefits as promised and was a pitiful $200 that with inflation lifts nobody out of poverty and and uses a barrier to receiving the benefit the disability tax credit which is a far more complex benefit to obtain
People with disabilities have had equal rights since 1985 but the government has done everything possible to leave people with disabilities in destitution repeatedly year after year. This is cruel abusive treatment is causing trauma and is a violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the convention for the rights of persons with disabilities
@MarkJCarney needs to provide an action plan to get people with disabilities out of poverty ASAP! enough is enough! More and more people are dying just waiting for the prime minister to do his job! – at Northumberland, Ontario
The new bill C222 Evan's Law relieving grieving parents of an administrative burden Act to add employment insurance amendment to gives additional funding to parents who lose a child during their EI coverage
I don't mean to sound heartless but perhaps the government could Foret Raise People with DISABILITIES out of poverty!!!
People are dying in Canada because of the government's refusal to increase funding for a targeted group of Canada's population despite them having equal rights in Canada since 1985
What the hell is wrong with this government?!
The targeted punitive measures of the disability policies in Canada are violations of the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the UN convention for the rights of persons with disabilities Mark Kearney discusses about a new world order because people don't follow International laws. Disability support systems were designed decades ago, and often fail to account for current living costs, modern assistive technologies, or the true expenses associated with living with a disability.
If people on #ODSP "just sit around all day" how about you give me your job; and i'll let you take my spot on ODSP? Fair trade; right? You can sit around all day

Groceries aren't stretching anymore. I wish I had spoons to prep a bunch of food from scratch but I can't. I need things that are easy to prep or ready to eat and it ends up costing a lot more than regular groceries. I can't shop around either 😕 #Disability #Trapped

Any help with bills would be really amazing 👏 wishlist help and grocery also wonderful. I am short still for October, and asking for assistance with November's needs. Grateful for any kind people willing to help 🙏
I'm having a difficult time on extremely inadequate disability support. Asking for help is the only way I can take care of my basic needs, pay bills and get groceries.
Please consider helping me survive
Thank you so much 💓

I totally agree.
Let's put it into a bit more perspective
In Ontario Disability Benefits have not been kept up adequately with the cost of living since 1995. Any increases provided since 1995 are cosmetic to Gaslight Canadians into thinking the government cares about the disabled when they don't
Inflation since 1995 has gone up 93%. And then people wonder why there's a homeless crisis – at Northumberland, Ontario
At a family dinner over the weekend, my 23-year-old nephew was talking about how hard it is to buy a starter home.
My 58-year-old uncle jumped in: “Just stop ordering takeout, work overtime, and save your money like we did. I bought my first three-bedroom place when I was 25!”
My nephew didn't argue. He just pulled out his phone, opened a basic calculator, and laid it on the table:
“Uncle Mark, in 1993, you bought that house for 82k while earning 36k a year.
That purchase was 2.3 times your annual income.
Today, that exact house is assessed at 490k, while the starting salary for that exact same entry job is 52k. That’s 9.4 times annual income.”
My uncle looked at the numbers, took a slow drink of water, and changed the subject to the weather.
Grit matters. Hard work matters. But acting like the math hasn’t fundamentally shifted is just ignoring reality.

This is a great question that I'd like to see @CdnPressNews @CdnPressPoli @nationalpost @globeandmail @CBCNews @CTVNews ask @MarkjCarney @CanadianPM in advance of the budget announcement on November 5th
Every year people with disabilities wait with bated breath hoping that the government finally sees them and increases their Federal and provincial benefits so that they do not live in poverty any longer.
It has only been since 1995 and every year the liberal government and premieres let Canadians down as the government prioritizes everything but their lives!
This past weekend 39 CFB Wainwright staff are now in critical and severe condition in hospitals across Alberta.
If it was not for the fact that these people will get veteran disabilities benefits these people would be living in extreme poverty now in addition to fighting for their lives.
Remember disability rights are your rights and something that you must fight for every day because you just never know when the wind change on a dime and you will need them!! – at Hamilton, Ontario
