The Difference A Week Makes
I photographed the Moon in the week leading up to the 2026 Total Solar Eclipse, with Totality captured in León, Spain.
Available now as a print - link below.
Rocket Lab has provided the first update on Neutron Stage 2 in about a year - sounds like it's headed to Wallops soon.
This follows last week's update on Stage 1 production, which suffered a delay due to voids forming during Automatic Fiber Placement (AFP) of the carbon fiber.
We have completed breakover operations for the Neutron Stage 2 tank assembly, rotating the stage horizontal – a critical step in the handling of large rocket sections for integration and assembly.
Here’s a last look at Stage 2 on the Neutron Factory floor before it’s wrapped up (literally) for barge shipment to LC-3 on Wallops Island where its fluid systems will be tested and its Archimedes vacuum engine installed.

For those wondering, no Human Landing System updates unfortunately in this earnings call.
There is the NASA Artemis Update on Friday, however no SpaceX or Blue Origin representatives are currently scheduled to appear.

Earlier this year, @Space_Station's Canadarm robotic arm underwent some repairs. More recently, the mobile platform it sits on suffered communications problems.
Upcoming Spacewalks 100 and 101 are reliant on these, so I asked @NASA if they were monitoring any concerns:
Canadarm2 is operating nominally, and the agency is not tracking any issues, according to Gaurang Patel, Operations Integration Manager, Low Earth Orbit Program.
The moving platform, known as the Mobile Transporter, had some transaction errors on communications Channel A. Because of this, Channel B has been made the prime communications channel for these upcoming EVAs.
The team continues to conduct checkouts on Channel A, and when redundancy is required, it continues to show an ability that it can be utilized.

I 100% support replacing the lifeboat station on Cromer Pier with an orbital launch pad
Back during the Blue Streak era, when Britain had one of the most powerful rockets in the world and could have been a third space power, the Norfolk coast was considered as a launch site.
You can fly north over the North Sea into a polar/sun-synchronous orbit. The latter being a major orbit for space based data centres.
Ultimately it was dropped over concerns about the risk to North Sea gas platforms; but in an age of reusable rockets that don’t fall out of the sky when they complete their burns, is that still a blocker?
A quick size comparison between the @SpaceX expansion at the Kennedy Space Center, and what currently exists at Starbase, Texas.
Images are the same scale.

Earlier this month, NASA's Kennedy Space Center posted the Draft PEA for SpaceX's expansion of its Roberts Road campus for Starship. This would expand the site from 167 acres to nearly 400 acres, more than doubling the existing footprint at the site.

BREAKING: Terran R second stage has fired up for the first time!
Relativity is making serious progress towards the first flight of the heavy-lift vehicle. Slightly bigger than Falcon 9, slightly smaller than New Glenn.
🔥 Just another day at Stennis. Stage 2 successfully completed its first integrated hotfire!
The A2 test stand was originally built in the 60s to support Saturn V Upper Stage testing (S-II). It was later reconfigured to be a single engine test stand for Shuttle Main Engine testing and development.
The last Saturn V Stage test occurred October 30, 1970 on A2. It has been 55 years, 11 months, and 17 days since A2 supported stage testing capability.
As of this morning, it is now 0 days.
If you still don't believe that Blue means business... I don't know what to tell you at this point 😂
They're making stuff happen.
Does this mean that, when Dragon retires, Roadster will transport crews to the International Space Station?
.@RocketLab has officially delayed Neutron's debut to 2027, after defects arose during manufacturing.
It turns out making a really complicated vehicle out of a really complicated material is... really complicated.
Does carbon fiber just suck for rockets? → youtu.be/86x7x7taX10
Wow, the improvements on Artemis II really are visible.

NASA has released a picture of the Artemis II heatshield after recovery and inspections. The contrast with the Artemis I heatshield is quite visible.

BREAKING: @SpaceX & @FAAnews intend to conduct the assessments to allow 456 Starship launches & 912 landings per year at Starbase, Texas. Weekdays only.
This is 1.7 launches & 3.5 landings per day, but it's the second phase of this plan.
The first phase is only ("only") 100 launches & 200 landings per year. Weekdays & Weekends.
Again, this is very early days, assessments and evaluations have to take place - but it's the first time such a cadence has been written down officially.
