Batteries are non existent? We have batteries! We can charge them! This is ubiquitous technology! I can buy a solar powered battery for my portable devices from Amazon for $30.

Because solar doesn't work at night either (nonexistent) battery storage, a parallel fossil fuel or nuclear power grid, severe rationing or hyper-expensive power is necessary

But don't let the difficulty of thinking interfere with the pleasure you take in your casual and derisive moral superiority

This is a brilliant example of how propaganda works.
Here's Eric uttering a lie so blatant and transparent that it's literally laughable but it's out there now and serious people will have to debunk it as it makes its rounds.

One has to imagine that some of those people have real-life responsibilities that include the safety and well-being of others.

There should only be one issue in American politics right now.
Will we allow a man who tried to steal a free election become the president?
If we do, we won’t be America anymore.

Is there a contest being run by Merriam-Webster to get an example of "sophistry" into their definition, or something?
Or perhaps Godwin's law is getting an upgrade where every argument now devolves into a DEFENSE of nazis?

German Green Party politician powerfully denounces nuclear closures!
Ralf Fücks, politician and 41-year member of the Green Party, admits the phaseout was wrong and says why.
There's still enough time to save many of the closed reactors.
Full statement, in translation:
"Germany is alone at home. But we're probably smarter than the rest of the world.
[Chart showing only Germany still insisting on nuclear phaseout, all other countries having paused or reversed course]
Dear people, I was a (rather active) nuclear opponent for decades. Now it's time to take note of a few facts: No other country shut down its nuclear power plants prematurely in the middle of the climate and energy crisis. The trend is towards extending the term.
Numerous industrialized countries see nuclear power & renewables as complementary. Massive investments are again being made in R&D for the further development of nuclear energy. Whether this will lead to a new wave of investment remains to be seen.
There are still good reasons to decide against nuclear power. But this path is also associated with high costs and risks. Instead of reciting old dogma, we should reevaluate things. The head is round so that thinking can change direction.
Addendum: I am well aware that the share of nuclear power in global electricity production is falling while the expansion of renewable energy is growing exponentially. Nevertheless, in view of climate change, we chose the wrong order with "nuclear phase-out first".
The primary goal must be to phase out coal, oil and natural gas. What complementary role nuclear energy will play in a climate-neutral energy system is an open question. In the EU + other industrialized countries, a combination of sun, wind, hydropower + nuclear power is emerging."
Ralf is very brave to come out and say this publicly. So, for Fücks' sake, Germany should turn the reactors back on.
Ever since I took my puppy to the groomer he's been trying to hump older dogs in the neighborhood. Very unsettling.
