1. In 2017, Kayleigh Ferguson-Walker, was around 6 months pregnant with her 2nd child when she suddenly became seriously ill. She lost all 4 limbs: The severe disruption to her blood circulation caused tissue in her arms and legs to die. Doctors had to amputate both arms and both legs to save her life.
2. Brie Morgan Bauer, was 27 weeks pregnant with her third child in February 2024 when she suddenly became seriously ill. She developed severe complications from a rare Group A Streptococcus infection, which led to streptococcal toxic shock syndrome, a life-threatening condition. Her body went into shock, affecting her organs and blood circulation.
Doctors performed an emergency C-section on February 17, 2024. Her premature baby boy, Beau, survived, but she lost all 4 limbs. Brie was placed in a medically induced coma for around 10 days. Poor blood circulation caused severe damage to her limbs, and doctors had to amputate both arms below the elbows, her right leg at the hip, and her left leg above the knee. She also underwent a hysterectomy and additional surgeries.
However, the infection had also damaged her kidneys, leaving her dependent on regular dialysis. In March 2026, her older brother, George Morgan, donated a kidney to her, which was successful.
For the umpteenth time, mummy zee saying pregnancy is not a death sentence is not the main issue. Itโs the fact that this statement undermines all the pains and losses other women have suffered just to birth a life. It was easy for her doesnโt mean others have it easy.
