She knows. They all know. Not just about the evil being done but what they can and “can’t” say about it. It’s so nauseating and horrifying to see it laid bare so clearly.

Not only are settlers viciously attacking Palestinian farmers trying to harvest their olives, but now they are actually stealing their harvested olives and taking them to a newly erected olive oil press in a settlement.

Why is accepting donor funds from the Azrieli Foundation acceptable politics, while you deem a young talented artist holding up a Palestine flag unacceptable, @CalgaryOpera?
Many institutions including Giller Prize and Toronto Arts Foundations have cut ties with Azrieli Foundation following pressure from artists and the art community – due Azrieli Group's ties to assets in the violent illegal settlements.
In 2024, Danna Azrieli, part of Azrieli Foundation's leadership, questioned if Palestinian children killed by Israel should be considered children at all.
It is a highly political choice for @CalgaryOpera to continue to accept Azrieli Foundation funding.
All of my solidarity with Gabriel Sanchez-Ortega, a brave, principled and talented young artist. I hope that Calgary Opera will use this time to reflect on the political stances they are taking and correct course.

Calgary Opera in Canada has removed bass-baritone Gabriel Sanchez-Ortega from the remaining performances of Tosca after he raised a Palestinian flag during the curtain call on opening night, Friday, October 16.
The opera company said the flag-raising was unexpected and unauthorized, adding that individual political protest goes against its policies. Another singer will take over the role of Cesare Angelotti for the remaining performances, which are scheduled to run through October 24.
In a social media post, Sanchez-Ortega said he had no regrets about raising the Palestinian flag.

We are disturbed to learn that @CalgaryOpera has removed bass-baritone Gabriel Sanchez-Ortega from future performances of "Tosca" after he unveiled a Palestinian flag during the curtain call on opening night. Art is political, and artists should not be punished for expressing support for the Palestinian people as they face a genocide. This decision must be reversed.

The settlers also assaulted Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine, knocking her to the ground and kicking her repeatedly.

Here are a few of the confessions I noted down while watching Naza.
“Whoever you decided to kill was a terrorist.”
We say 15 NAZA. Not 15 people, or 15 women and children. We say 15 NAZA.”
"It’s like a video game, we’d always say, because everything is done remotely.”
“We didn’t collect the bodies. The dogs eat them.”
- The ‘human shield’ claim about private houses is absurd. They just come home to sleep. That’s where we find them.”
When asked if what’s happening in Gaza is genocide.) “Yes. Completely.... It’s intentional killing. We intended to kill those children.”
“Gaza became a factory of targets… it was done on a mass scale, efficiently, like in a factory.” “A factory of targets.”
“We erased history.”
“The policy is to destroy everything as quickly as possible, before we lose international legitimacy.”
“When we would attack someone and saw he was injured but alive, we usually dropped another bomb on him.”
“I’d hear the final moments of a person’s life.”
“I heard a woman screaming that her daughter’s body was burning.”
“The goal was quantity not quality.”
“There was a boy who entered our territory, he wasn’t doing anything. They bombed him.”
Y’all understand the panic over Naza yet? The film is dismantling their narrative piece by piece, using their own words.

Can't believe 60 Minutes actually put this on air. Mainstream American TV just walked into the West Bank and showed settlers moving in, cutting off a family from their own house, and attacking them when they tried to go back. One relative got shot in the head. This is the kind of thing that usually stays buried - so I wonder how the Trump-Bibi admin will take it! 😬
