We must ban online gambling in Ontario! All of it. Now. We can’t wait. We can’t take half measures. As he so often does, @fordnation plunged Ontario into an addictions culture headfirst, without a plan, without guardrails, without any anchoring in our values as Ontarians. He risked livelihoods and lives in the process. Young men are being hit especially hard by predatory, multibillion-dollar American profiteers. We must ban all online gambling in Ontario! “Suicides by people with gambling issues have increased… Emergency department visits for gambling disorders have doubled. Insolvencies in which gambling is identified as one of the causes have more than tripled. Calls to Ontario’s problem gambling help line have also shot up.” More studies aren’t enough. Ending advertising isn’t enough. We need a full ban now. And we need to strengthen prevention and treatment for gambling addiction, putting the health and financial security of Ontario families ahead of gambling profits.
