Funny they mention Canada exporting intelligence in the context of sovereignty when the Canadian government participates in the Five Eyes program to share our data with "allies" like the United States.
Demands for sovereignty are a sham.
The hate directed towards @cohere is unjustified. I cannot stress the importance of sovereign ai. Canada has exported enough intelligence powering the state of the art already, and need to invest capital to play catch up.
As someone who works in data, we all understand how valuable data artifacts and production traces are in improving model capabilities, and Canadian’s are providing this for free to the frontier models. This is particularly concerning for the government and defense sector.
