If you are looking to travel the world for work, conferences, competitions, summits, volunteering, workshops, education, and more across Pakistan, Nigeria, SA, UAE, Nepal, India, Ghana, the UK, the US, and beyond. I spent hours during the weekend finding companies abroad that are actively hiring and funding and compiled them into one sheet. Application links, eligibility criteria have been added, so all you have to do is review the sheet and apply. drive.google.com/file/d/1zSJ…

This reminds me of the last days of GEJ's regime. People were pretending to campaign just to secure their share of the bag. Before the elections, I saw money being moved by boat from my hotel in Lekki.
City Boy Movement coordinators arriving to Kaduna in private jets, to go and tell the poor masses that they're hungry because of opposition. 😅😅

One reason I’m often praised as a fantastic host is my ability to think 10 steps ahead to tackle unanticipated problems. Whenever I’m planning an event, I ask myself, “What could possibly go wrong to disrupt this day?” Then I put measures in place to prevent it. Thats why it grinds my gears when people cannot do the basic work of just thinking to anticipate obvious problems. Take these guys at Vein Lagos, for instance. They knew for over a week that Burna Boy would be attending with his car and that the car would be one of the night’s main attractions yet not one person thought to ask, “This car sits extremely low to the ground; how do we ensure it can enter the venue without scraping its underside against the floor?” Burna Boy partying with his car was the entire spectacle yet these guys made absolutely no provision for the car itself. I genuinely cannot stand the anyhowness of most Nigerians man. You have to teach people how to think, how to anticipate the obvious and, far too often, how to use their common sense.
Omoh! Na the wahala wey Burna Boy go dey face with him $9m Bugatti be this o! 😩

At a certain point, if not already, the average person has to admit this is hysteria. None of this stuff helps Palestinians and it’s all about westerners feeling morally superior to each other

We are the ones stressing ourselves. Those questions were approved by both ARISE management AND Dangote prior. If not, it would not be there. My hot take is that he clearly wanted to send a message (publicly) to someone or some people. The message has been sent.
What a stupid, stupid question. And from a female interviewer at that. Is there no level of foolishness that is beneath Nigerian news anchors and "journalists"?

You cannot get Nigerians to "fight for their rights", they do not understand that they even have "rights" to begin with. I am trying to explain to them, that as a consumer, a service provider should not abruptly stop providing services (with no proper notice) - as you all have certain "consumer rights". Their responses are something along the line of; We are collectively terrible people, bla bla bla bla. But even if you are all "collectively terrible people" - do you not have "rights as consumers"? This illogical, defeatist thought pattern - largely driven by a crippling inferiority complex, is why Nigerians seldom accomplish anything as a collective - both at home, and abroad. Anyway, believe whatever you want, I am out of this discussion.

Unpopular Opinion: Removing the tolls on roads in 2000 or so was a mistake. There's been a massive deterioration of roads since then
PHOTO: Motorists stranded as Kwara-Kogi federal road deteriorates Motorists and other road users have been left stranded for days on the Obbo-Ille-Eruku-Egbe federal road linking Kwara and Kogi following the deterioration of the highway. In a Facebook post on Monday, Egbe Mekun Parrot, a community blog, shared photographs showing sections of the road in poor condition. thecable.ng/photo-motorists-…

Again, many of you need to understand the cultural evolution of corporate Nigeria. Millennials, as they are called, are the ones who initiated the policy change to adopt a first name-based work culture. On the other hand, Gen X (baby boomers) preferred to be addressed by titles like Mr., Mrs., or Miss. Therefore, there was a certain level of conflict in organizational policies regarding this matter. Regardless, the girl will be fine; she has just experienced the complexities of corporate culture.

I can’t believe it! 😂 I know ten people with verifiable net worth exceeding $1 million who are all employed in 9-5 jobs. The thing about wealth earned through 9-5 jobs is that it’s designed to be discreet. It’s a part of the job description.
Nobody gets RICH or escapes POVERTY with 9-5, and some of you went as far as mentioning @SirJarus. It’s funny to me. How much was Sir Jarus worth when he was doing 9-5 compared to now? How many people in Nigeria knew who he was compared to now? He probably left the 9-5 because he obviously knew he wouldn’t possibly get to maximize his potential and get to the peak of his career. No matter how much you are paid, 9-5 can’t get you RICH except there are other benefits attached to it including corrupt practices. I personally know someone who resigned from W.H.O (where he was paid 11M monthly) only to face his PRIVATE BUSINESS. According to him, he said he resigned cause he seriously felt underpaid and he knew he would make way more money doing his personal business. Again, without other benefits and or CORRUPTION, no 9-5 Job can strictly get you RICH or escape POVERTY in Nigeria. Except if you have a different definition of RICH from mine. Mention the 9-5 job, let me see.

Living below your means only works if you’re actually investing the difference & then still increasing your income too. There’s no reward for just suffering yourself.

The answer is their lifestyle. They don't own anything fancy. They live in houses you would not want to live in. Look at the life of the average educated young person. Your rent is 2m, your phone cost 1.3m and so on. Meanwhile, that same money would buy you a piece of land inside the bush. This is the "dark side of education", it makes you sophisticated enough to be dependent on the trappings of modern society. It forces you to re-evaluate what you consider successs. Here's another example, how much does the average young Nigerian spend on earing out? And how much does the class of people you are looking at spend on eating out. Long and short is that you can achieve what they achieve if you are willing to live their kind of life. The problem is that you think their kind of life looks like failure.
There is something shocking I’ve discovered about Nigerian market people: These people will be selling tomatoes and pepper in the market and casually tell me that they have trained 3 children through university. Some will even boldly tell me that they sponsored their children abroad. Meanwhile, somebody with a good corporate 9–5 job earning ₦500k is struggling to feed themselves, talk less of training three children. So who exactly is poor?

It’s too late for this. All we can do atm is to ensure our children aren’t our retirement plan. But for our parents, it’s too late. PS. To ensure that our kids aren’t our retirement plan, we may need to sacrifice less than some of our parents did. That may mean public schools for our kids so that we can invest the money that would have paid for private education.
You shouldn’t be your parents retirement plan.

I have a very very strong bias for family so I always feel extremely bad for people whose family becomes the biggest source of their problems. Because if you cannot be at rest with your family, who can you now be at rest with. God please.

Exactly! At certain milestones, it becomes a scoreboard. The person with $250,000 in liquid assets can live like the person with $1 million in liquid assets. However, since we don’t have a clear understanding of the value of money, we tend to overinflate their worth
The reason it’s easy think there are so many USD millionaires in Lagos is because the typical Lagos boy with $250k - 350k liquid can do everything as a guy with $1m also living in Lagos. But even with that, the number of people with $350k liquid in Lagos are not up to 1 million
