Blississippi is crazy because they didn't even achieve it by running some white ancestral Dem. They got a Black Democrat winning against someone who sent her daughter to a segregation academy.

Can we all take a second to recognize the powerhouse that @abreezeclayton is? Elected at 25 to be North Carolina’s State Party Chair, she prioritized recruiting top candidates and led to major gains for Dems.
North Carolina Democrats with four of the ten biggest upsets in the country! Five of the top eleven!

🚨#BREAKING: For years, Pennsylvania Senate Republicans sat on a bill letting child sexual abuse survivors sue their abusers. Tuesday, voters ended 32 YEARS of Republican PA Senate control, giving that bill the votes to pass, and finally giving victims a voice.

Shouldn’t be a surprise but Roy Cooper won all congressional districts in North Carolina:

Among the constellation of bright spots in Tuesday's election was the defeat of Republican Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson, who for 24 years has courted allegations of brutality, incompetence, and ugly, gutter racism. Johnson was defeated this week by Independent challenger Shannon Long, a former detentions officer who now works as a pastor and barber in Mebane. Story: newsobserver.com/news/politi…

Several states with abortion bans now have both a Democratic governor and attorney general. Makes me wonder if any of them can do what Gov. Katie Hobbs did when AZ had a ban: she transferred prosecutorial power of abortion cases to her Dem AG—effectively decriminalizing abortion

Sorry, you feckless fucking fossils. The Democratic party you knew is dead. We're building a new one. A Democratic party that is younger, meaner, and capable of decimating dipshits AND delivering relief for voters AT THE SAME DAMN TIME. Get on board or get run the fuck over.

Last night, North Carolina made it clear what kind of future we want. Our state set the tone for the country and elected outstanding public servants from the mountains to the coast. We flipped the North Carolina House, ending over a decade of one-party control. We’re sending strong leaders to the U.S. House, who will be my colleagues. And we re-elected Justice Earls to the Supreme Court and our slate of judges to the Court of Appeals, who will uphold our laws and protect North Carolinians. Congratulations to everyone chosen by the people of North Carolina last night. Governing is hard work — time to get to it.
