Summary of political differences in my world: Cons are annoyed by humanity but love people. Libs love humanity, but are irritated by people

"Washington hospitals will lose 6 billion dollars.
Thanks, Trump."
That's the headline.
Here's what it left out.
That 6 billion is over 7 years.
Before any federal cut,
our hospitals had already lost 4.5 billion dollars.
Why?
Olympia pays them about half
of what it costs to treat a Medicaid patient.
Then in 2025, Olympia raised their taxes.
The hospital association says hospitals were
one of the only groups hit with cuts
and new taxes.
240 million dollars a year.
The biggest piece came through
the House Finance Committee.
The chair of that committee?
April Berg.
Gas got an exemption.
Groceries got an exemption.
Hospitals didn't.
And every 2 years,
the state uses 452 million dollars
from a tax on hospitals
to cover its own Medicaid bill.
Now they want you outraged
that someone else is squeezing hospitals.
Audit before ask.
We warned President Trump and the MAGA Congress against passing the Big Betrayal Bill, knowing it would hurt hospitals in every part of our state.
A new report shows Washington's hospitals will lose $6 billion due to their Medicaid cuts. That is devastating to our healthcare system.

California's next governor will almost certainly be Xavier Becerra, up 27 points a week out.
Becerra is to Newsom what Biden was to Obama: a pale imitation you can barely see the outline of.
Republicans found the talent, first Pratt and now Hilton. What they're up against is a Democrat machine about as secure as Castro's.

The Ninth Circuit dismissed the appeal on the basis that it didn't have jurisdiction to hear it yet. It did not dismiss the lawsuit, and it did not issue a ruling on the merits.
California voters -- why do you elect idiots like Rob Bonta and Kamala Harris to the highest law enforcement position in the state?
Bonta is either lying in this post or he is a certifiable idiot.
BREAKING: The federal court of appeals has just DISMISSED Trump’s lawsuit threatening to disenfranchise thousands of Californians right before the midterm elections
Trump’s lawsuit bordered on the absurd and was nothing more than a reckless political stunt
This meritless lawsuit has appropriately been thrown out of court

This is a big deal. The thing that has haunted me from my interviews with detransitioners is how the medical establishment completely abandoned them when they decided to reverse course.

Billings, Mont. (Oct. 26) — Teachers held a protest outside Billings Senior High School after the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office declined to bring felony charges against a suspected trans 18-year-old male student who attacked a teacher with a knife.
The investigation lasted nine months and has led to no accountability, making locals wonder if there is a coverup because a suspected trans person was the assailant. The student has not been officially named.

I felt this on a deeply maternal level. Those of us who have eyes to see will celebrate them. I’ve met them both. They are both exceptionally engaging speakers & just overall great well rounded guys. Thank you, President TRUMP! We appreciate you. Mike Rogers is exceptional, too.

I don’t hate trans people. I hate that some trans people believe their rights supersede the rights of others – namely women.

It is not news that there is election fraud in Washington State. We’ve been enrolling everyone who gets a driver’s license to vote automatically since 2018. No one knows the scope of this fraud because they aren’t allowed to ask about citizenship, but it is huge.
What’s most disappointing about it is that the Senate refused to pass any law that would make our elections secure for months.
Democrats committed the fraud, but Republicans refuse to fix it. I’m pissed at both sides on this issue.
Can confirm.
“I agree with you, but don’t… don’t out me.”
@adamcarolla tells me that people approach him on Hollywood sets to say exactly this. They agree with him privately. They’re afraid of anyone finding out.
Behind the public speeches and moral lectures, he describes three different Hollywoods.
There are the true believers. There are the “preening liars” who perform the approved politics to advance their careers. And there are the quiet dissenters who keep their opinions hidden.
Carolla specifically mentions camera guys coming up to him on set. People working inside the industry who feel they cannot openly say what they think.
His explanation is blunt: going liberal in Hollywood can be a “business decision”.
When you’re replaceable, well paid, and dependent on people who expect you to share their worldview, public agreement becomes part of keeping your job. Loudly advertising that agreement might even get you promoted.
He’s particularly brutal about sitcom and late-night writers’ rooms. Walk in wearing a MAGA hat, he says, and “you’re not making it back into that room”.
That’s what makes his account so revealing. The same career pressure can encourage one person to loudly profess a belief and another to conceal theirs.
How many of the celebrities lecturing you are telling you what they believe - and how many are protecting their next pay cheque?

WA Senator @PattyMurray tried to block Neil Floyd from being US Attorney.
Ask yourself why she wants to block investigations into voter fraud. seattlered.com/jason-rantz/n…
UPDATE: US Attorney Neil Floyd after revealing voter fraud in Washington state:
“If you're not a citizen, you're not eligible to vote. That's a point of confusion here in Washington. Ballots are sent down to thousands, millions of people, and many of them are not eligible to vote.”
“We have done interviews...One of the things that we have discovered is that people are telling us, 'I got a ballot in the mail. I thought I was eligible to vote.' If you're not a citizen of the United States, you're not only to vote to vote to vote even if you receive a ballot in the name. So, I think it's fair to put the public on notice and to provide that warning before we go into an election season.”

This is unbelievable!
15,437 Washington minors got a transgender diagnosis on their insurance claims between 2017 and 2023.
In 2022, that was 1 in 58.
The highest rate wasn’t Seattle. It was Vancouver and Camas. The same area where girls just walked off a cross-country course.
Nationally, about 1.4% of teens identify as transgender. In Camas, 2.4% of teen girls already had a diagnosis on their insurance claims.
This isn’t rare. This is a trend.
Replying to @stevemur @GovBobFerguson
Bob Ferguson has served as Washington AG or Governor continuously since January 16, 2013—165 months and 11 days as of today.
He signed the executive order creating the Chief Fraud Prevention Officer position in October 2026 (today).
🙄🙄🙄
Two big announcements today:
I signed an executive order creating the state's first Chief Fraud Prevention Officer and a statewide fraud prevention workgroup to unify and expand our existing fraud prevention efforts.
I will also propose legislation expanding the current Medicaid False Claims Act to cover all false claims against Washington state. False claims include things like overcharging the government or submitting false grant applications. This new law will help hold violators accountable.
Washington state takes fraud seriously. As we continue to face challenging state budgets and devastating cuts from the federal government, it is more important than ever to protect every dollar.
Interesting thread:
A lot of focus has been on how the lawfare Slotkin promised to young Trump staffers is bad for our country. While that is true, there are also legal implications to her comments that will make it harder for Democrats to defend their oversight of the Trump admin before the Supreme Court. I’ll explain below.

NEW: Today, Gov. Bob Ferguson signed an executive order creating the state’s first Chief Fraud Prevention Officer and a fraud prevention workgroup to cover Washington's Health Care Authority, Social & Health Services, and Children, Youth & Families departments (Daycares)
Wait. Didn't Attorney General Nick Brown and Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson insist there wasn't any daycare fraud? Didn't they and their SEIU buddies call anyone who investigated fraud racist?

This is the difference. California relies on the honor system. If someone attests they’re a U.S. citizen, they don’t check or verify it.
But DHS has their alien numbers and full immigration histories.
This is going to be a really interesting fight to watch play out.
NEW: LA County says a sample of the Trump admin's 200 names of suspected non-citizen voters showed that 38.9% attested to being born in the US. But in a new sworn statement under penalty of perjury, a DHS official says its investigation shows NONE of LA County's 200 names were born in the US.
"After a thorough review of the immigration records of all the individuals on the County's Sample List, it was determined that none of the individuals USCIS matched to the County's Sample List were born in the United States according to USCIS records," -Nicolas Bartell, Associate Director of Fraud Detection at USCIS.
