There's a new thanksgiving day parade coming to downtown new york this year. TLDR: - anyone can join, make a float, watch, march, or be involved. - will be in the morning before your other plans - more info gettles.co/parade

Brother, do yourself a favor
I have eaten with all sorts of people from all different backgrounds all over the USA -- but I've never seen anybody eating ham steaks. Yet every grocery store has a whole display more or less dedicated to them. What gives? Are any of you guys eating these?

Use kojo @ kojo.sh We are planning on a secondary release concerning cybersecurity-oriented models, which might pique some of your interests. gif made by kojo in ~3 minutes and 21 seconds.

normies *don't* know about this normies don't talk or know much about ai at all if you push real hard you might get some hand-wavey "datacenters are bad because uhhhhhhhhhhhh they just are" sort of response they're just trying to pay rent for the month, twitter is a bubble
I gotta be honest, the whole qwen neuron thing, I don't like it. normies shouldn't know about this. I would vastly prefer they go back to talking about abliterated models or pumping memecoins or whatever it is they do

I love to omp. It's just, you're alone with peace and quiet, nothing around you but your session opened on Tern. No one to hassle you. No one to tell you where to go or what to do. The only bad part about omping is having to come back down to the world.

Yeah this is quite a big deal. If P != NP (what we suspect, and hope) then it effectively functions as a undeniable and rationalistic higher power that us mere mortals can use to our advantage like gravity. This points to the possibility that they *might* actually be equivalent, and if that's the case then cryptography (except perhaps quantum cryptography) effectively dies all at once. There are smaller potential degrees of impact as well, others much more intelligent and well read than me on these matters are seriously concerned that we might lose public key crypto and secure key exchange, which would would be nearly as catastrophic. If cryptography dies, then the landscape of information/computer security changes instantly and we become completely dependent upon secure logic and machine isolation.
The complexity theory result is actually huge. P problems can be solved in polynomial time. It was widely believed that NP-complete problems require exponential time. P = NP states that NP-complete problems can be solved in polynomial time. OpenAI didn't prove that. But, they proved that (some) NP-complete problems can be solved faster than exponential time, meaning: - P = NP, or - the complexity of NP problems is a "middle thing" between polynomial and exponential, eg. O(n^log n) If it survives peer reviews, this could be one of the biggest CS breakthroughs in decades.

oh man… I don’t like the sound of this
Dario Amodei: some tokens Claude produces are worth a few cents, others could be worth tens of millions of dollars. His examples: 1. Telling someone to restart their Mac: the model has said it 10 million times, worth a dollar or less 2. Telling a pharma company to move an aromatic ring to the other end of a molecule: potentially tens of millions 3. Expect pay-for-results pricing, or labor-like pricing by the hour 4. It's a new industry, so many models will be tried Today pricing is simpler: per the S-1, usage-based pricing was 80% of H1 2026 revenue and subscriptions 20%. are your omp session logs hogging space on your machine? i got sick of constantly offloading mine, so i built native session log compression into omp `omp gc --compress` uses the compression already built into your disk (mac + windows). 100% lossless my omp sessions folder went from 20.3 GB to 5.8 GB, and every session still works like nothing happened run it, or tell your agent to: `omp gc --compress --apply`
