This Islamophobia Awareness Month, we must shine a light on the abhorrent hatred and discrimination Muslims continue to face. In the last year alone, religious hate crimes targeting Muslims rose by 15% in England and Wales. This is utterly unacceptable. London will always stand against hatred, prejudice and discrimination.

Let me be absolutely clear: anyone who targets Londoners because of their faith will be held to account. I'll continue working with the Met Police and partners to tackle faith-based hate crime, such as Islamophobia, protect our communities and ensure there is zero tolerance for this kind of prejudice in our city.

I am no expert on internal French affairs. I can tell you though with 100% certainty that if this was the Israeli police but not the French police condemnations would be coming in from every country in the world.
