The American People summoned their moral constitution, repudiated Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans forever, and demanded moral leadership from their elected representatives, reclaiming for America the moral authority required to be the leader of the free world once again.

Donald Trump is a Russian asset.
US energy company execs have resigned in disgust as the Trump family is caught secretly expediting the funneling of $25 billion from a sanctioned Russian energy giant in exchange for allowing Russians to obtain a natural gas project in Alaska.
According to investigations by The New York Times and Financial Times, Russia's Novatek allegedly concealed its financial involvement in the American project through a UAE-linked intermediary.
Gentry Beach, a longtime Trump ally and close friend of Donald Trump Jr., signed an agreement with Novatek to pursue natural gas development in Alaska. Reuters documented the arrangement in February.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin discussed this cooperation on the Alaska energy project with Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, during negotiations involving Russia and Ukraine.
The controversy deepened when Polar Train LNG's CEO, Joel Riddle, raised concerns about concealed Russian financing and possible sanctions violations. He departed in September, followed by other senior executives.
The Financial Times also described discussions about a potential arrangement under which Novatek would provide technology for the Alaska project in exchange for sanctions relief benefiting its Arctic LNG 2 development in Siberia.
According to The New York Times, Riddle and two other departing executives warned the Trump administration about the Russian financing and urged officials to investigate.
The White House maintains that the project was mentioned only briefly and that no detailed discussions took place. There is no established evidence that Kushner or Witkoff knew about the allegedly concealed financing. Polar Train LNG denies wrongdoing.
The central question is how a sanctioned Russian energy company became involved in a major American energy venture while Putin was discussing potential economic cooperation with Trump's representatives and a longtime Trump family associate was pursuing a separate agreement with the same Russian company.
Selling Alaska to the Russians or selling Ukraine to the Russians - to the Trump family it's all the same.

"Everything we love is on the line" in the US election. I argue that President Trump has systematically undone the strategy that since the 19th century has made the US the world's leading country. He has eroded our sources of greatness.

Some in Congress criticizing Trump's policy toward Ukraine. Fine but not nearly enough. Time to pass legislation by veto-proof margin providing eco & military aid to Ukraine and imposing sanctions on Russia. This Potus has shown he cannot be trusted with US foreign policy here.

US policy toward Russia & Ukraine is, in a word, shameful. Trump continues to do things FOR Russia & TO Ukraine. But where are the others, from @SecRubio to Republican senators? Do they really want to be seen by history as accomplices to appeasement? richardhaass.substack.com/p/âŚ

It looks like Putin told Trump that Ukraine was causing high gas prices, a lie that is convenient for Trump. Obviously itâs Trumpâs war in Iran that is the issue. But Trump canât accept that.
So now Trump wants to give Putin a lot of money for Russian diesel, which wonât do anything to markets and wonât even help him in the midterms, though I bet Putin told him it would.
But since Russia and Iran are allies, the shift in US policy and any US taxpayer money that Trump gives Putin will help both the Russian war on Ukraine as well as the regime in Iran. Trump got his pocket picked as usual but the money is ours and the deeper price is the visible shift of US policy to support Russiaâs war of aggression.
In other words, Trump makes the world more dangerous by extending two wars and gets nothing in return, not even for himself (unless there was a side deal, which canât be ruled out).

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?

In moments of fear and division, itâs easy to feel like progress is slipping away. But @evanwolfson reminds us that history tells a different story: change is possible when people organize, defend democracy, and refuse to give in to despair.

The damage Netanyahu has done to Israel is incalculable. There has been a 67% shift in Americaâs attitude toward Israel over the past 8 years. Thatâs not because the US has become 67% more antisemitic over the past decade. Itâs because of his radicalism.

For 25 years, Republicans irresponsibly showered the wealthy with tax breaks, driving our nationâs debt higher and higher.
Now that it's surpassed $40 trillion, Republicansâ idea of fiscal responsibility is forcing working families to pay the bill through cuts to their health care.

The right to vote is the foundation of our Democracy, and the Supreme Courtâs decision allowing the President to move forward with this assault on that right is an insult to the vision of our founders.
Trumpâs attempt to seize control over Americansâ ability to vote by mail threatens to silence their voices and must be challenged.

The Supreme Court stayed one injunction blocking the EO on standing/ripeness grounds, without ruling on its legality. A separate USPS injunction remains. Full implementation for midterms is uncertain amid timing and likely further challenges.

No one who is at all concerned with the national security of the United States can possibly support Trump. This is simply a hideous betrayal of the country and its future in exchange for a bribe.
Just to be clear: The news here is that the Trump DOJ actually sought to indict and arrest six sitting Dem lawmakers for saying something legally and factually true about unlawful orders. The failure before the Grand Jury is secondary.
Evan Wolfson retweeted
Today, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro attempted to persuade a Grand Jury to indict me. This was in response to me organizing a 90-second video that simply quoted the law. Pirro did this at the direction of President Trump, who said repeatedly that I should be investigated, arrested, and hanged for sedition.
Today, it was a grand jury of anonymous American citizens who upheld the rule of law and determined this case should not proceed. Hopefully, this ends this politicized investigation for good.
But today wasnât just an embarrassing day for the Administration. It was another sad day for our country.
Because whether or not Pirro succeeded is not the point. It's that President Trump continues to weaponize our justice system against his perceived enemies. Itâs the kind of thing you see in a foreign country, not in the United States we know and love.
No matter what President Trump and Pirro continue to do with this case, tonight we can score one for the Constitution, our freedom of speech, and the rule of law.
What has unfolded in Minneapolis this past month betrays our most basic values as Americans. We are not a nation that guns down our citizens in the street. We are not a nation that allows our citizens to be brutalized for exercising their constitutional rights. We are not a nation that tramples the 4th Amendment and tolerates our neighbors being terrorized. The people of Minnesota have stood strong â helping community members in unimaginable circumstances, speaking out against injustice when they see it, and holding our government accountable to the people. Minnesotans have reminded us all what it is to be American, and they have suffered enough at the hands of this Administration. Violence and terror have no place in the United States of America, especially when itâs our own government targeting American citizens.
No single person can destroy what America stands for and believes in, not even a President, if we â all of America â stand up and speak out. We know who we are. It's time to show the world. More importantly, it's time to show ourselves.
Now, justice requires full, fair, and transparent investigations into the deaths of the two Americans who lost their lives in the city they called home. Jill and I are sending strength to the families and communities who love Alex Pretti and Renee Good as we all mourn their senseless deaths.
