We are working on a number of projects in space exploration - from "apps in space" hackathons to knowledge base for future Martian colonists.

I want a city on Mars. Rest I can live without.
Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants AI in every app. Nobody wants data centers in space. Nobody wants humanoid robots or flying cars. We want clean water. We want a stable climate. We want a habitable planet. We want wildlife to survive. We want to live.

Our home!
Nighttime lights of Toronto, Canada are a patchwork of white and warm LEDs in a classic North American grid design. To the southwest, the airport blacks out a large area and an approaching cloud blurs the edge. The Great Lakes coastline is ocean-like in appearance!

Such awful news from the military base at Wainwright, Alberta, with multiple lives lost and many badly injured. My heart goes out to families and friends, with impact across our armed forces. Immense gratitude to the first responders and medics on the scene.

You can’t replace a sand grain of excellence with the Everest of slop.

Interesting.
Potential orbital rendezvous without consent happening on orbit now. War is moving into orbit (has been for years just now visible).

On-ramp before going vertically!
There were 139 launches globaly in 1967, slowly declining to a mere 54 in 2004. The space industry was in near terminal decline. It wasn't until 2021 that a new high of 146 was made. That was a 54 year gap. Every year since 2021 has been higher (I wonder why? SpaceX. It's because of SpaceX). SpaceX passed China, then the global leader, in the number of launches in 2023, when it launched 98 rockets to China's 67. Just one year before in 2022 SpaceX only launched 61 rockets, with China edging out a narrow victory with 64. There's no turning back, after a half century hiatus we're finally on our way! Spacefaring, multiplanetary civilization here we come. Ad astra! 🚀 ✨️

If one to remove chaff from both ends ("AI is going to kill us all!" and "AI will create an utopia for humans!"), the most immediate impact of AI is that every employer/business owner got access to a new, highly cost-competitive labour pool. Make you own conclusions from that

Have a great Thanksgiving, Canada. One of the most ancient of all celebrations, of harvest time. Share it with others if you can. Enjoy the weekend!

Sulphuric acid is a decent solvent... not saying sulphur-based life is possible, but maybe not impossible!

Exactly ten years ago today, SpaceX announced the Interplanetary Transport System, a rocket designed to colonise other worlds. Today, it exists under a new name, Starship. And, tomorrow, it will orbit Earth and deploy a real payload for the first time.
