Is your entire portfolio in one country?
Then you are not really diversified.
What may seem easy and obvious can SCCAR you forever.
Single currency, single country, single asset risk is to be avoided!
As your mother told you: Do not put all your eggs in one basket.
Real asset allocation means going beyond borders and accessing opportunities globally... And not just in the US.
The even more important question is how to do this Global diversification, because do it wrong, you can be worse off than before.
To learn how, go to the only Indian firm that has been global since 1999 (yes, really!)
Send a DM to us or write to [email protected]... We will take care of it from there.

Can you tell me who gave you what last Diwali?
I am sure you will draw a blank...or nearly so
What’s a Diwali gift people remember even 20 years later?
We spend time choosing sweets and accessories but do the recipients remember them even a few months later?
I’ve always believed in gifts that leave a lasting impression. 📚
This Diwali, what if you gifted someone a book instead?
'Money, Myths and Mantras' could be a great start to understanding money and investing.
If you want to bulk order it, send a DM right away to @firstglobalsec
And of course you can order some other books. Because those are the only gifts that are remembered decades later.
Markets compound. So why don’t most portfolios?
Investors often buy after markets rise and sell after they fall ie enter and exit at the worst possible time... And the promised compounding goes up in smoke
@DevinaMehra explains why when you invest matters as much as what you invest in👇
Want to invest with more discipline?

You know all the data - the one showing great compounding in the equity markets over the decades.
The question is: Why don't most real-life portfolios show this?
The answer has less to do with the market and more to do with when you enter and when you exit.
Data on equity mutual fund inflows since 2004 shows a very clear pattern: investors tend to rush in after markets have already done well and rush out after markets have already fallen.
We’ve seen this pattern repeatedly—after the 2003–07 bull run, the GFC, during COVID, and again after the recent market highs.
That is exactly how investors miss out on compounding... And how most investors lost money in the best performing mutual fund in US history.
When your mind is panicking and telling you to get out, that is usually the time when discipline matters most.
So, what SHOULD you be doing instead?

Sharing some good news - getting The Most Powerful Women award from Business Today - this time for 2026
Sharing with your tribe is actually the only fun of any achievement... And of course you need the blessings of your elders and your gurus.
And the best part is the joy from old teachers, old neighbours, family friends, parents and siblings of friends...people you may not have met for decades but who take such joy in your achievements
Truly blessed to have many such in my life 🙏🙏🙏
Also in a broader sense while at IIM and in the earlier years of my career I thought all achievements were gender agnostic and I never underlined the woman part, now I do because I realise girls and young women do not have enough role models... And so many young women come up and say that "You are an inspiration that it can be done"... So now I take that role a bit seriously especially as women's causes have been close to my heart since age 10
Wearing a saree with a craft from my hometown and bangles gifted by a school friend to represent my roots and my friends and family... Because they are all a part of where I reached
One of the highlights of the evening for me was this conversation with the captain and vice captain of the gold medal winning women's hockey team (which happened after some four plus decades)... And happened after a set back where they did not even qualify for the Olympics
Navneet Kaur, the vice captain said that she regularly stands in front of the mirror and tells herself in Punjabi: "Navneet Kaur, there is no one better than you. You are the best."
There was also the captain of the gold medal winning kabaddi team
I thought there was the best panel of the evening
As an aside all three of them said their favourite movie was Chak De 😄
Even the captain of the hockey team comes from a village where even till date there is no mobile signal.
She used to go for her hockey practice sitting behind her father on a bicycle
But she said she had this vision that she would excel in hockey
All of them manifested the visions that the first had in their heads... Which is a lesson for all of us as most of us face neither their starting challenges nor the going head to head with the best in the world.
Kudos to our champion sports people 👏👏👏

Low P/E means buy. High P/E means sell. Right?
Not always.
With cyclical stocks, valuations can be misleading.
@DevinaMehra explains why a low P/E can be a warning sign —and a high P/E an opportunity👇

We’ve all heard the usual rule: buy at a low PE and sell at a high PE.
But what happens when you’re looking at a cyclical business?
Interestingly, the situation can be almost the opposite of what you’d expect.
So, when can a high PE actually be a buying opportunity?
And why can a low PE sometimes be a warning sign?
I explain it with a simple example in this video.

Geopolitical crises often trigger fear-driven reactions in markets.
One of the biggest investing mistakes during such times is panic selling.
History shows that markets may react sharply to geopolitical shocks — yet they have often recovered over time.
For investors, the real challenge is separating short-term fear from long-term investing discipline.

Higher profit margins always mean a better business. Right?
Not necessarily.
Two companies can operate in the same industry but follow very different business models.
To understand which business is performing better, you need to look beyond profit margins.

We often think try to pick holes in China’s growth story
Even saying that India is the faster growing economy.
But are we looking at the wrong race?
But China’s story goes much deeper: from R&D and electric vehicles to critical minerals and global supply chains.

A high ROE may look impressive, but I always believe in looking beyond the number.
What’s driving it?
Strong profit margins, efficient use of assets, or borrowed money?
The answer can tell us a lot about a company and the risks behind its returns.
In investing, understanding how a company generates returns matters just as much as the returns themselves.

Article titled "If India is the fastest-growing big economy, why invest elsewhere?”
Most investors don’t fail because they don't know anything about investing.
They fail because they go to extremes.
All “safe”… or all high risk.
Bulk of the money in fixed deposits provident fund, tax saving schemes etc OR thinking they can trade for a living.
But wealth isn’t built on extremes — it’s built on balance.
Not 100% safety.
Not 100% risk.
Just the right mix, consistently.
