The Cat Ba langur (also known as the golden-headed langur) is one of the rarest primates on Earth. It lives only on Cat Ba Island in Northern Vietnam and nowhere else in the wild. There are only about 70 to 80 individuals left in existence.

💜 A heartfelt thank you to J.K. Rowling 💜 To have someone of J.K. Rowling’s courage, influence and conviction publicly acknowledge and celebrate our victory means more to us than words can express. 🥹 The past three years have been an incredibly difficult journey for the Darlington nurses. We have faced challenges we could never have imagined but through it all, we have remained determined to stand up for what we believe is right. 💪🏻 Moments like this remind us that we are not alone!! J.K. Rowling has shown extraordinary courage in standing up for women, often at considerable personal cost. Her unwavering support for women who have found themselves in difficult and sometimes frightening circumstances has given so many of us strength. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Jo. Thank you for your courage, your compassion and for using your voice to make sure women like us are heard! Your support means the world to us and we will never take it for granted. With love and gratitude, The Darlington Nurses 💜

“Worked perfectly well”? Tell that to women displaced from first Female finishes, whose course records have been surpassed by males, and whose sex-based age grades are distorted by gender-based classifications. Perfectly well for WHOM? Certainly not those women and girls. And spare me the tired accusation that demanding fairness means disliking trans people. By your own twisted logic, one could just as easily accuse YOU of disliking women and girls, given how relentlessly you argue against their fairness and accuracy. Funny how women’s objections are branded hatred, while your dismissal of their interests is celebrated as inclusion. The hypocrisy is staggering.

All I want to happen is women and girls to maintain their access to single sex spaces, sports, language, and even prison cells. Why do YOU have a problem with that?

No one wants that to happen. However, we’re under no obligation to make ourselves less safe in our spaces due to men’s choices. If we open up our spaces to some men, we’ve opened it up to all men.

Women and girls self exclude all the time. We avoid certain streets, parking garages, bars, elevators, bathrooms, routes home and situations because we assess risk. How do you not know this? Women setting boundaries around vulnerable spaces is not “hysteria” or “isolation.” It is ordinary risk assessment women have been doing our entire lives. And no, we do not need to wait until after someone is assaulted before our boundaries become legitimate.

And what about the safety, dignity, privacy and rights of women and girls? Compassion is not a one way street. You cannot demand that women surrender sex based boundaries in the name of someone else’s dignity while treating our own dignity as negotiable. Trans people deserve safety and respect. So do women and girls. Any solution that requires one group to lose boundaries so another can feel affirmed is not equality.

In my last parkrun as a female, I ran in the women's 40-44 category. I lost out on 1st overall female to somebody who won a 3rd place trophy in the men's 30-34 category in last season's X-country. This is what parkrun's warm and fuzzy inclusiveness looks like. 🤷‍♀️🤯 @RRRunnersUK

Rowling’s advocacy is for the rights, dignity and safety of women and girls, especially those without her money, security or platform. If your response to that is to sneer that you are simply “better” than her, you may want to consider which side of history that actually puts you on. Nothing says principled movement quite like declaring yourself morally superior to every woman who refuses to agree with you…

You keep insisting women who defend female boundaries are “misogynistic women,” while simultaneously arguing that male people are entitled to the word woman, women’s spaces and women’s categories…🤦🏻‍♀️ That is quite the handmaiden routine. Women are not stereotypes, hormones, breasts or presentation. We are a sex class with material realities and rights of our own. Telling women to surrender those boundaries to males and then calling us misogynists when we refuse is not liberation. It is misogyny with a new script.. men demand, women submit, and any woman who says no is punished for disobedience.

Exactly! She could quite easily sit on her yacht, drink champagne and never involve herself in any of this. Instead, at enormous personal cost, she has repeatedly put herself in the firing line to advocate for women and girls who do not have her money, security, platform or ability to withstand the consequences of speaking publicly. That is literally the point she was making about privilege. And what does she get for using hers to speak for women with fewer protections? Men like you sneering at her, calling her a bigot and demanding to know why she doesn’t simply shut up because the issue supposedly doesn’t affect her personally. Thank you @jk_rowling. Apparently women are selfish if we defend ourselves and suspect if we defend other women too. Funny how the acceptable option always seems to be silence.
J.K. Rowling: “In fact, the more privileged you are, the less (trans activism) tends to affect you…” By that logic, it shouldn’t affect Rowling in the slightest, so why make anti-trans activism her crusade? It has benefitted her by giving her a platform to lord it over women.

J.K. Rowling has published a new essay today - and she has some particularly strong words for trade unions and their treatment of women. She accuses union leaders of abandoning working-class women in favour of their own “luxury beliefs”. She also makes a powerful point about privilege: those championing trans ideology are often the people least likely to experience its consequences. Think MPs such as Stella Creasy, senior BBC executives or NHS managers on six-figure salaries - compared with nurses sharing workplace changing rooms, rape survivors relying on support services or women in low-paid jobs. Rowling also reveals that applications to her Women’s Fund involving private companies have fallen markedly, while publicly funded institutions continue to resist the Supreme Court ruling. A damning indictment of organisations that are supposed to defend workers - not work against them. Link to full essay below 👇
