This is misleading. He's not removing any costs, he's just loading gas standing charges on the unit rate. Higher users will be penalised, but lower users will benefit. All in all it's just deckchair shuffling.

You genuinely couldn't parody this if you tried. A state grammar school stages a trial of Nigel Farage. Who prosecutes? A Lib Dem 2024 parliamentary candidate. Who is the defence? The candidate’s own partner, who works for the local Lib Dem MP. Two Liberal Democrat party operatives running a fake courtroom against an insurgent political leader in front of teenage schoolgirls isn't teaching critical thinking—it is grotesque partisan grooming disguised as a school assembly. The arrogance of the progressive establishment in our education system is completely out of control. Investigate the leadership of this school immediately.
This is indoctrination 👇 I grew up under communism. I know what happens when political ideology enters the classroom and children are taught who the approved people are, and who the enemy is. Britain is not communist. But the hard Left’s capture of too much of our education system should alarm every parent. We have one last chance to root ideological activism out of our schools and rescue education from those who think children are theirs to politicise. Thank you @_GeorgeFinch for exposing this and, crucially, taking action. It is not too late. But it is getting late.

‘British wages are rising fastest in low-paid sectors where employers previously relied on workers from the European Union.’ Burnham’s argument that the return to free movement with the EU will benefit the UK is nothing but a lie that will only impoverish those on the lowest wages. Further evidence that the Labour Party has abandonment the working class.

No it wasn't? She was being ridiculous with a question about someone else's post on X. What the hell's that got to do with Farage? These ridiculous "gotcha" moments only make the journalists and interviewers look desperate! The electorate see right through this rubbish. 🤡

On the gherkins thing: 1) Brexit benefit, not that they're talking about it... 2) Why do we have to do this in response to a cost of living crisis, rather than to all food to make things cheaper? (3) Or, if you must, to all food we don't produce or process here.)

This represents severe rot within the UK professional/managerial caste, who have replaced Western norms with self-validation. This nation faces fatal sets of risks but they are telling themselves they are infallible - the only problem is "Refooorm" or "Faraaage"

I fear Conservatives using the race card to protect Badenoch from criticism is not going to endear them to those Reform voters they want back. Reform wants immigration controlled, the leading spokesperson on that is Zia Yusuf. It was mean, but many insults have been exchanged.
For the racist little pricks who apparently need this explained: Kemi Badenoch was born in LONDON. She grew up abroad and returned to Britain at 16. She is now 46, married and a mother of three Disagree with her policies. Challenge her arguments. That’s politics. Treating her skin colour or Nigerian heritage as grounds to question whether she belongs here is racism. Have the backbone to own what you’re doing instead of dressing it up as patriotism. Britishness is not a whites-only club, and you miserable bigots are not its membership committee. And any politician who panders to that poison deserves contempt, whatever party badge they wear. She belongs here. Your racism belongs in the fucking gutter.

The constant struggle sessions every time someone associated with Reform calls Badenoch Nigerian is going to get tedious very quickly.

Why would we even consider doing this? It won’t curry favour the EU, they’ll just bank it & ask for dismantling of the UK’s democracy while demanding our cash for the privilege

Presenting a two-point fluctuation as a headline political trend without mentioning that it sits entirely inside the standard plus-or-minus three percent margin of error is amateur statistical analysis, Sam. On a standard online panel of roughly two thousand respondents, a two percent move is mathematical noise. Yet Sky News presents these figures as gospel while keeping the shifting algorithmic weightings completely hidden from the public. You never explain the black box: how YouGov models turnout probability, how past-vote recall from July 2024 is being weighted, or how undecided voters are artificially squeezed back into legacy party columns to protect the establishment baseline. Dropping bare percentages onto the timeline without the underlying data tables, demographic weighting adjustments, or confidence intervals is narrative creation, not polling scrutiny.

As warned yesterday, Guido Fawkes predictably took a heavyweight defence paper and reduced it to cheap tabloid clickbait. The mistake now is retreating into classic Whitehall jargon about procuring capability rather than platforms. That exact Treasury mantra has spent twenty-five years hollowed out our armed forces, trading real frigates, battalions, and airframes for vague technological promises that arrive a decade late. A maritime-first strategy is not single-service rivalry; it is basic British geography. An island nation cannot deter aggression or secure critical undersea infrastructure with abstract capabilities floating on PowerPoint slides. We need hulls in the water. Do not let tabloid sensationalism dilute serious defence strategy.
A little too much (thank you @GuidoFawkes) is being read into my quote welcoming this @Prosperity_Inst report prosperity.com/media-publica…. I don't endorse the report's precise prescriptions on behalf of @reformparty_uk. The size and shape of the Armed Forces is downstream of the national security policy work we are doing - more on that soon. But I do welcome the report's clear-eyed focus on our core national interests, and its recognition that the refusal to invest properly or make decisions about priorities has created our 'overstretched and hollow Armed Forces'. I am more sceptical about 'single service' strategies ('more Navy', 'more Army' etc). We should be procuring capability rather than platforms, with much more scope for spiral development and constant upgrading as technology changes. And most of all we need a trajectory of immediate and sustained public spending increases, with clear demand signals to attract the private capital that will create the defence innovations of the future - innovations Britain is brilliant at, but currently can't create at the scale and pace that we need.
