As the wheels of time grind forward a lot of folks are feeling less safe. It's not an unreasonable feeling these days, unfortunately. Some will choose to reconsider prior decisions and decide to purchase a weapon for self defense. This isn't necessarily a terrible idea. However.
If you choose to purchase a weapon for self defense please pair that with training. @OpBlazingSword has a database of LGBTQIA+ friendly trainers who are willing to work with you to make sure you're safe. Research your local laws about use of force, duties to retreat, etc.
