Human beings are super irrational creatures indeed.
I've been telling people about bitcoin privately and publicly for 8+ years.
It's been a constant reminder of how difficult it is to actually help most people. Ultimately, because pride causes them to immediately reject things that don't already align with their worldview and assumptions.
Fiat inflation is not going to stop... The current system requires it.
Eventually, a single bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars and people will still be calling it a 'scam' because of ego.

Security called me at 6:12 AM today.
"Patch every PHP server immediately."
I asked what happened.
"Two critical vulnerabilities. Remote code execution. No authentication required."
Cool.
How many PHP servers do we have?
According to inventory: 12
According to reality:
Nobody knows.
We found one running WordPress.
Three running old internal tools.
One under someone's desk.
Two inside vendor appliances.
A forgotten employee directory from 2016.
And a server named:
PHP-OLD-DO-NOT-TOUCH
Naturally, that one runs payroll exports.
Then we found a PHP 5.6 box.
I asked who owned it.
The documentation said:
BRIAN.
Brian left in 2019.
We called Brian.
He said:
"Oh wow, that's still running?"
Excellent.
By 8 AM, leadership joined the incident call.
CEO:
"Can hackers actually get in?"
Security:
"Potentially yes."
CEO:
"Without a password?"
Security:
"Yes."
CEO:
"Then why do WE need passwords?"
Not the lesson.
Finance asked if we could wait until the weekend to patch because downtime affects revenue.
Security explained that the alternative was letting strangers execute code on our servers.
Finance asked for a cost comparison.
At 9:17, someone suggested temporarily taking the vulnerable websites offline.
Marketing refused.
"Our campaign is live."
So for the next hour, the company officially decided maintaining a landing page for 20% off webinar registration was more important than preventing remote server takeover.
We finally patched everything we could find.
Then our scanner discovered another PHP server.
Hostname:
TEMP-PHP-2014
Uptime:
4,512 days.
Nobody knows what it does.
Nobody owns it.
Nobody can shut it down.
But every time we block network access, the warehouse stops printing shipping labels.
Security has classified it as critical infrastructure.
It is running PHP 5.4.
The vulnerability has existed longer than half our employees.
The emergency patch took four hours.
Finding out what PHP actually runs took eleven.
The internet isn't held together with code.
It's held together with servers everyone is afraid to turn off.
Have you ever heard of something called “gun ownership and the 2nd amendment”?
Replying to @electionsjoe
You’re also paying the gov to enforce your ownership of the land. If someone shows up and says they own your land now, your taxes cover the process for the government to enforce/back up that YOU own your home. They keep the records and enforce the law for you and that isn’t free.

There’s no property tax in El Salvador.
The govt. supplies all the programs and services by being efficient, with no corruption.
Anyone who says property tax is essential to fund government services should study how El Salvador is providing world class services without property tax.

2 years ago I was tinkering with the first prototype of the “Plus” board.
The goal was to upgrade the physical experience of using a @SeedSigner — larger screen for easier reading and better QR xfer, drop the stabby nub for a DPAD, swap microUSB for USBC and get the cord out of the way, and make interfacing with the microSD slot easier. And then bringing the pill shape back was a bonus win.
Myself, @KeithMukai and a Noderunner called “MadBo” (who was also the co-creator of the BTClock) agonized over the specs, sizing and layout for the board. We must have gotten some of the details right because thousands of them have been deployed to bitcoiners around the world, and I think I can safely say that the majority of them have not been produced or sold by me. The design has also been forked to accommodate smart cards, batteries, and in one case, both.
Although open sourcing both the board design as well as the reference enclosure wasn’t the most lucrative path, it was the best one because it’s allowed the magic of the SeedSigner project to make it into the hands of many more people than it might have otherwise, while also materially upgrading their experience of using a signer.
We have much more in store wrt open software AND hardware development with the planned support for microcontroller architectures, but every once in a while it’s fun to glance in the rear view mirror and reflect a little on how far we’ve come. 🧡
I think I figured out what a REAL Bitcoin (whatever that even means to you) wallet should look like and there’s NO WAY Fiat normies are remotely ready to use it yet.
It HAS to require a pure “Dave Ramsey Step-1” (emergency fund) gangsta fiat debt solving approach anyway ☝🏾🏄🏾

I don’t believe any of this. If you’re any shape of “messed up”, you don’t have time to write to Claude that you bought a gun and are ready to shoot someone specific.
I don’t buy it I’m sorry. Nope. 🙂↔️
A Florida woman was arrested for what she typed into Claude.
Carli Michelle Heller, 30, of Bonita Springs, wrote on September 26 that she was going to "shoot up" the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the next day she wrote that she'd gotten a new gun. she said she was angry because deputies had been present when her child was removed from her custody.
she also said she uses Claude as a diary.
Claude's safety systems flagged the entries, escalated to a human reviewer, reviewer decided it was credible, reported to law enforcement without a warrant deputies identified her and arrested her at home on September 30.
Anthropic's updated policy from September 10, 2026 explicitly permits sharing data with police when Anthropic has a good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to prevent serious harm.
the same policy: flagged conversations can be used to improve the safety detection systems. A flagged diary entry becomes training data for the detectors.
Wvery Claude user should know the terms permit this, they have monitoring and the reporting channel exists.
you are not writing in a diary.
you are writing to a company that has reserved the right to call the police.

British Hodl just told you the Fabian doctrine. Listen when he speaks. They always tell you who they are
Watch how institutional power is not merely normalized, but openly celebrated in Bitcoin's social layer.
Wealth, status, access, and proximity to power are elevated, while Bitcoin's founding principles, including sovereignty and the separation of money and state, are ridiculed.
The values of the fiat system Bitcoin was created to challenge are being repackaged as Bitcoin's path to success.
On November 5, Mars Spits Bars takes this worldview to BTC Inc's Bitcoin Amsterdam, on a Whale Pass-only panel titled:
“BIG BITCOIN: IN CONTROL?”
The CAPTURE articles documents the institutional relationships and mechanisms of influence.
Bitcoin's social layer is the final line of defense against complete institutional capture.
But if that very social layer is being conditioned to celebrate institutional power, ridicule principled opposition, and attack those exposing its concentration, who exactly is left to resist it?

Africa's Big Five, which one is hardest to spot in Tanzania? Most guides say rhino. Few left, usually far away. What's the hardest animal you've ever tried to see?
