Well-argued post on how "big" problems in complex systems are a combination of "small" problems, which can be fixed individually. Key question, though: what keeps these fixes from combining with other "small" fixes to new "big" problems?
Looking forward to a follow-up post.

This is the most common outage story BY FAR: "Routine task meets conspiracy of circumstances and an unexpected limit is reached. Mayhem ensues but runtime control saves the day." @glasnostic

Configuration code and infra as code say nothing about actual traffic, user behavior and how those impact production services and their interactions. I'm a big fan of @Glasnostic and their line of thinking about controlling production traffic.
Continuous deployment and increasing dependencies make it really difficult to fix production issues in code. This post by @christoph_k shows why runtime control offers a better way.
