Homeowners are suing Las Vegas officials over new short-term rental laws they say are unconstitutional and designed to protect hotel profits at the expense of everyday people’s income.
The Clark County Commissioners think they can wipe out homeowners’ rights by declaring certain residential homes commercial use; they’re gravely mistaken.
Unfortunately, it is residents who pay the cost to defend the unconstitutional laws by this Board in court. It won’t change until these commissioners are held personally liable for attacking people’s constitutional protections. #propertyrights #homeowners #governmentoverreach

Armed Officers Raided the Wrong Home
Cold and terrified, Cathy was detained at gunpoint while officers ransacked her home searching for a man named Joshua Smiley.
But Smiley was not there. Nor did he have any connection to Cathy, her home, or the building.
Had the officers run the most basic of checks, they would have realized that Smiley had been behind bars for 4 months after being publicly arrested.

Victory! The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld our injunction protecting @Airbnb owners from @ClarkCountyNV fines for not having an #STR license the County refuses to grant.
The biggest win is the court saying that not only are we “likely to succeed on the merits” in our legal battle but, more importantly, that property owners have a “PROTECTED PROPERTY INTEREST in leasing their residences on a short-term basis.” This is HUGE!!!!
Additionally, the ruling adds new pressure on the County by directing the lower court to set a firm deadline on the County for processing pending applications and to order the reopening of the licensing process for new applicants.
This outcome follows our collective effort to challenge corrupt officials in #LasVegas who have used their power to protect the resort hotels’ monopoly on the backs of Nevada homeowners!
