That's around the time (might've been 2009?) ESET created its Rapid Response tech to handle its software preventing a PC from booting up/BSODing… or about 15 years before CrowdStrike had its bad update.

I used to patch monthly in the year 2003/4.. and even then we would patch fast for certain scenarios e.g. critical vulnerability in common software.... MSBLASTER was a thing in 2003.... people talking about patching like it's new: It's not! I installed > SUS > WSUS I used to manage SMS2003/SCCM this is fucking ancient stuff... (relatively)

153 million driver's licenses. 10 million ID cards. 3 million travel documents. A massive trove of identity documents allegedly linked to IDScan has surfaced on a dark web marketplace, raising questions about the security of the systems businesses use to verify customers. IDScan provides identity verification technology used across industries including car rentals, hotels, cannabis dispensaries, and other businesses that scan government-issued IDs. The exposed data reportedly includes US and Canadian driver's license scans, along with ID cards, travel documents, and medical cards. Security journalist Brian Krebs reported the breach after verifying samples of the data, including finding his own records in the database. IDScan later confirmed that an unauthorized third party may have accessed customer information, including full names and driver's license numbers. The company said it is cooperating with federal law enforcement, while the FBI is investigating. The dark web marketplace where the data was advertised has since gone offline. But taking down a listing doesn't necessarily mean the underlying data is gone. The bigger concern is the ecosystem behind identity verification. Every time an ID is scanned at a hotel desk, rental counter, or retail business, sensitive identity data may pass through systems that customers never directly interact with or even know about. A breach at one verification provider can therefore have consequences far beyond the company itself.

Two malware campaigns are abusing Claude's content-sharing features and paid search ads to distribute malware from Anthropic's own domain. Neither campaign compromised Anthropic infrastructure. Both rely on users pasting a command they did not write. The pages are published as Artifacts and Shared Chats on claude.ai and pushed to the top of search results with Google Ads. Delivery uses #ClickFix: victims are instructed to copy an obfuscated command and run it themselves. On macOS this chain installs Atomic macOS Stealer (#AMOS), which harvests browser credentials, Keychain data, crypto wallets and other personal data, then replaces the Ledger and Trezor desktop apps with trojanized versions that ask for the recovery phrase. On Windows the same pattern delivers a .NET remote-access tool that also targets cryptocurrency wallets. No exploit was required. The attack depends entirely on user action, which is why the most effective control is: do not paste commands from a browser into a shell. Full analysis: gendigital.com/blog/insights…

🇰🇵 For a few months, I posed as a recruiter and engaged a DPRK persona known as Jason Kwon, who appeared to be operating as hightechrun shortly after news of m00n was shared. He later introduced himself as Roy Hensley. At the present, there is a possibility his current alias is on a shared upwork profile. Without knowing when that profile was put into play, it’s unconfirmed if that alias has entered any projects or been exposed. Some of this will be familiar to researchers who follow DPRK activity as this wasn’t attribution built from scratch. It started with existing research from @zachxbt being publicly shared and some tracking by @intell_on_chain (@rugpullfinder). During our conversations and conveniently in the Beanstalk discord, he shared the 0xm00n GitHub account and later explained it as an “agency” account. I used decoy documents, and CanaryTokens to collect what was possible about working environments. The summary covers the identity changes I could follow and connections collected during the small engagement. I’m publishing this now because I want to get back into documenting, not leaving helpful info sitting in DMs, screenshots, and drafts. Additional context can help someone else connect an account, recognize a recycled persona, or pick up a thread you couldn’t follow further. Link to medium article ⬇️ and thanks to all involved in this. @0xfigo has recently shared some work done behind the scenes with @north_scan involving tracking DPRK so I’m mentioning that as a resource available for those doing work on our beloved IT Workers. medium.com/@0xsaiyangod/meet…

Hi @majorgeeks, I haven't been able to access your site for ~2 days. I thought it might be from php updates, but none of the "is is up" websites say you're offline, and a traceroute is showing, well, this. Is your web host having peering problems?
