I have mixed feelings about Elon, though he's certainly done some impressive things. ... for the life of me I can't understand why the left hates him so much now.

But I thought the mayor said good riddance, no??
Around half of Seattle businesses report that are considering moving or shrinking, blaming a business environment that they say is getting worse and don’t believe it looks like it will get better, according to a survey from the Downtown Seattle Association and Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. kiro7.com/news/local/survey-…

Why do people keep falling for these stories?
The grift is complete. 1. Follow the coach and the director around, yell at them, run on the field every time your kid gets subbed. 2. Get cops called on you for acting unruly. 3. Make up fake story. 4. Profit $40,000.

Because progressives can't write intersectional gobbledy-gook as fake answers to mathematics like they can in many other subjects. There are only correct and incorrect answers.
"during the last school year, a council of educators at both Palo Alto high schools rejected the [advanced math] course, arguing it would serve few students and set back equity and students’ well-being" Right, math is harmful. Come on! What are we doing? “If teaching math can harm students, then we have a lot bigger issues to talk about than whether to offer this course,” Nguyen told the Chronicle. Indeed. Brian Conrad, a Stanford mathematician, told the Chronicle that he felt math was treated as a “punching bag” for equity and mental health concerns. “The school doesn’t cut sports teams simply because some kids are far more talented at sports,” he said. “Why is it that the teaching of math generates much more controversy than other subjects?” sfchronicle.com/bayarea/arti…

Finally got my "new" treadmill delivered yesterday so went for an early morning run today for the first time in a while. It's not easy waking up early, but I always feel better after a run and never regret it.

If you believe this to be the case, you might want to be more skeptical... even if it fits your worldview.
They called the police on a little Black kid for being too good at soccer.

Apparently Michigan vs Western Michigan means dramatic finishes this year. Michigan scored a goal with 0.1 seconds remaining to win 3-2. I’ve never seen that before in hockey. Crazy.

It’s crazy to me that actual instructional costs at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) are roughly the same as administrative costs. (Some methodologies don’t include Student Services as administration as I think they should be.)

His team got killed, but he’s totally correct. The NBA has lost fans because of the ridiculous foul-baiting and flopping.
Yaxel Lendeborg on his NBA debut: “That was interesting. I got to see what the NBA’s like, man. Lot of flopping, lot of foul-baiting, lot of crying to the ref. Interesting first game for me, for sure.”

Chicago Public Schools spends about $33,000 per pupil ($10.25B FY2026 budget ÷ ~305,000 students). US average current spending was $17,619 per pupil in FY2024 (Census Bureau). CPS is nearly double the national figure.
A millionaire's tax in Illinois would relieve working Chicagoans' property taxes and help fully fund our public schools.

I remember on one of my trips to China, this one to Shenzhen and Dongguan, commenting to a supplier about how densely populated the area was. I did some quick online research and learned that the Guangdong province is about 20% larger than my home state of Michigan, but has 12 times the population… 126 vs 10 million! Here is a graphic comparing the size and population densities!

If he had his due process and found guilty of rape, how is he still on the team?
A criminal inquiry is underway after a 19-year-old Louisiana State University student posted on social media last month claiming she was raped by an LSU football player. Earlier this year, a Title IX investigation found the football player responsible for forcible rape, but he remains on campus playing for the LSU football team. In an exclusive interview, CBS News’ @Jerickaduncan spoke to the woman who's questioning the university's handling of the case.

Not coincidentally this is how I chose my major (Chemical Engineering) a few years before this particular list was published, but basically right as I was about to graduate.
