Last met @KinsellaWarren some 20yrs ago at a nat'l CIC summit in Ottawa, organized by Mara Messinger. That's how long he's been a vocal ally. Back then, before Twitter + his koati run-ins, his talk was on how to harness a personal blog for activism! I look fwd to reuniting today!

When @JDVance says that two of the major reasons for the anti-Republican tsunami are the Iran War and the Trump Administration’s relationship with Israel, he’s actually conceding his own failure and placing the blame on himself. The rationale for the Iran War was to prevent a rogue terror state from acquiring a nuclear weapon. No American, properly informed, would oppose such an essential action to protect American citizens. But JD did not support the President in this core exercise of executive power, and even garbled the message by saying it was all about the price of gas (an incoherent justification insofar as gas was not expensive before the war). So if Republicans do not support the war, JD should look no further than a mirror. As to Israel, it was the only country to risk its blood and treasure in support of America’s self defense. Israel didn’t and couldn’t force America into this war — it alone came to America’s aid. But JD, instead of leading on this issue, succumbs to the all too convenient “blame Israel” crowd that he has never disavowed. If Republicans are to recover from this shellacking, a sober assessment of its mistakes is essential. In my view, that begins with the recognition that on a core and necessary exercise of presidential power, the vice president was off the reservation.

The gall of the guy. Vance was the architect of the June 2026 capitulation to Iran---the"Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding"---that turned military victory into a diplomatic fiasco. He gave Iran everything it wanted in return for promises it immediately broke. And then he lied about it and smeared critics. Now Vance has the unmitigated gall to blame the Iran War, whose impact on the economy was a direct result of his incompetence.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Two Senators tell me the Vice President is right that the GOP turned against the Iran war in the Senate GOP’s own polling. But they say what the VP leaves out is that the turn came after the VP negotiated a bad deal with the Iranian regime that repulsed the GOP.

It wasn't just the war. It wasn't just the inflation. It was the failure to follow through on investigations, prosecutions, and reforms. It was dropping the ball on the central pillar of gutting the deep state. After the first 40 days, everything suddenly slowed to a crawl, then stopped, and then reversed.

No province—not Quebec, not New Brunswick—should receive a penny of federal transfer payments if it refuses to develop its natural resources. New Brunswick’s refusal to develop its massive shale gas reserves while relying on federal transfers (largely funded by Alberta and Saskatchewan’s resource revenues) for 40% of its provincial budget is pure hypocrisy.

What is so important about this post, is to understand how little Grand Chief Stewart Phillip cares about democracy. First Nations make up approx 172K people in British Columbia. Over 800K British Columbians voted for the Conservative platform to repeal DRIPA. We pay taxes, work hard and have given tens of billions to First Nations in BC over the years. But it's never enough. Imagine if Grand Chief Stewart Phillip put this kind of effort into protecting the THOUSANDS of First Nations who died from overdose, just in the last 5 years? How about the thousands overdosing every year? When over 1% of FN in BC overdose, every year, but they rage like tyrants about DRIPA, it really showcases what the priorities are for the Chiefs. Grand Chief Stewart Phillip literally endorsed the BC NDP who decriminalized the thousands of FN who died from overdose. What an evil, sick, warped human being.
Grand Chief Stewart Phillip: "My fundamental message to corporations is 'buyer beware' when you invest in BC, because we are not standing down, we are not stepping back."

First things first. Israel has an absolute right to exist as a Jewish state, and there will be no peace until the genocidal terrorists who are suicidally determined to exterminate the Jews are themselves exterminated. The Jews are the senior occupants of what is still widely known as the Holy Land, having been there for more than 5,000 years. The British in 1917 effectively promised the old Roman province of Palestine to both the Jews and the Muslim and Christian Arabs; it was like selling the same real estate to two parties at the same time with predictable results. If the surrounding Arab powers had accepted the original borders of Israel as proposed by the UN, it would be barely half of its present size. But by unleashing an aggressive war to try to strangle the Jewish state in its cradle and being defeated in 1948, 1967, and 1973, they facilitated the enlargement of Israel. On several occasions Israel has given back substantial territory in transactions of land for peace—in fact returning land to Arab countries who had lost wars they had started in exchange for ceasefires that they almost immediately violated. The U.S. Carter administration’s failures helped remove the Shah of Iran, who was replaced by a militantly genocidal pseudo-theocracy dedicated to exterminating the Jewish people; the only American presidents who have seriously known what they were doing in the Middle East were Truman, Nixon, and Trump. It seems to have been largely forgotten that the present conflict was caused by Hamas’s invasion of Israel, the massacre of 1,200 Jews in the most barbarous circumstances, and the seizure of 250 hostages—an uncontestable act of war. The United Nations has played a shameful anti-Israel role: if you have peace, you don’t need peacekeepers, and if you have war, peacekeepers are useless. Despite a campaign of defamatory hysteria, Israeli forces have caused an extraordinarily small number of civilian casualties by the standards of urban counterguerrilla warfare, especially since Hamas makes no secret of its willingness to run up civilian deaths. The only road to peace is Israeli victory; no nation could wish peace more than Israel does, but when the enemy is prepared to die to achieve a genocidal objective, he must die.

There is a new generation of aboriginal leaders who want a united and strong Canada
For decades, the courts have defined the duty to consult under Section 35 of the Constitution. Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), reflected in DRIPA, goes beyond established case law and raises questions about balancing broader societal interests. Repealing DRIPA offers an opportunity to restore investment certainty, strengthen Indigenous economic partnerships, and deliver prosperity for all British Columbians. It’s also important to remember the Indigenous leaders that advocate for investment stability and economic growth. cbc.ca/news/indigenous/dripa…
