During Teacher Appreciation Week, remember this: If we want the best-educated workforce in the world, we need great teachers.
But we won’t attract great teachers when the average starting salary is just $48K a year.
My Pay Teachers Act guarantees teachers at least $60K a year.

Arizona zip codes by household income and voucher participation.
More evidence from the nation’s first universal ESA that these programs are disproportionately used by higher-income families to subsidize tuition at private schools they were already attending.

Quick fact-check going into the weekend. The claim that "starting salaries for MS teachers are at or above the national and southeastern average" is false.
Starting pay in MS in $41,500. That's above the national/SE averages... in 2020-2021. We are way behind now.
