‘Remember the child of whom you are’ is the deepest advice given by an African parent. It carries so many meanings and interpretations. It is one of the best moral compasses out there.

You can love someone deeply without becoming their entire support system.
You can listen.
You can care.
You can check in.
You can help.
But you are allowed to have limits.

Fun fact - 2013, I needed to meet my sales target at Smile 4G LTE because month end was fast approaching. Soo a friends dad asked me to visit Christ Life church. I didn’t know anyone, I just walked in and asked for their media department and gave them a free trial. They loved the internet but they couldn’t make any decision on behalf of the church. None could also do an intro to those who could make decisions.
In defeat, I just looked at the surrounding and said to myself. My transport to this place must not waste. The church had a small library that had his books. I started skimming through a couple of them. I kuku didn’t have money to buy any. Then the person selling the book insist I must buy one, I used my transport fare to buy one.
After buying it. My mind just said go and wait at the waiting room and be reading the book.
The receptionist asked me who I am waiting for. I said joking I said I am not leaving this place if I don’t see Bishop Wale Oke. I sat down and started reading. Ten minutes later, she received a call on the land line and said Bishop wants to see you now.
I was like haaaa. I started feeling very anxious, book in my palm, bag on my back filled with internet routers and mifi.
I entered the office. He didn’t talk to me, he spoke to one of his sons who was also in his office that he is having issues with his laptop and internet. I just jumped in. Sir, I want you to try this Internet. I connected him and Smile 4G gave him that blazing speed.
He asked what I wanted to see him for. I said I came to sell internet here but no one will listen to me. He laughed. He asked me to connect 5 for his building. And took me to one of his services. Everybody was looking at me. What does bishop wants to do for this young boy. He told the congregation that he used the best internet through me and everyone should patronize me.
I sold like 60 mifis and 10 dongles. My supervisor to had call and shout “Danjuma, what magic are you doing at Christlife!”
I went to thank Bishop and I said I really appreciates his kindness and asked what did you see in me that warrants such help.
He said he saw me reading a book at the reception. That’s enough to tell him about me and he was free at the time.
Such a wonderful man.
I am very happy at the way Archbishop Wale Oke was celebrated yesterday as he marked his 70th birthday. He truly deserves every bit of the honour and celebration.
I attended Christ Life Church for a few years in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In fact, my friend’s family home in Olaogun, Old Ife Road, was located directly opposite the church gate, and we spent almost every evening there. As a result, I was very familiar with the happenings in and around the church.
Archbishop Wale Oke was an inspiration. He was, and remains, an ardent follower of Jesus Christ, a fierce preacher and a dedicated prayer warrior. His passion for the things of God and his commitment to spreading the gospel left a lasting impression on me.
I am particularly proud that such a remarkable man is a fellow indigene of Egbeda Local Government.
As he begins another decade, I pray that Almighty God will continue to strengthen him and grant him many more years in sound health, grace and impact.
Amen.

A culture of blame is infectious. As citizens, we must take responsibility for our own actions.
Put trash in the right places not throw them out the window, obey traffic laws, follow queues, register to vote and vote, you get the drift.
Citizens have responsibilities too!

Quick tip for anyone who ever has to address a crowd.
People need to be ‘humor-facing’ to see the humor in your presentation. Your jokes (ice-breakers) could be great, and still be received coldly if you don’t take the time soften the air first.
It’s not you, it’s the air - and you will learn how to shift it with time and practice.
Just thought to share.
If you use the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway regularly, September 8 could change your journey for the next two weeks.
Repairs are starting again at Kara Bridge.
Here’s the timetable, where traffic may build up and the options available.

I did my Masters degree at 36.
I moved to the United States at 38.
I joined the US Army at 39.
I got my US Citizenship at 40.
I started my PhD at 41.
I am building an African Play Center at 42.
Just do it. You will grow older anyway, so why don't you age with impact, influence and income?
The product is not the business.
I probably watched every single episode of Shark Tank for the first 10 or 11 seasons, and one phrase that stayed with me is: a product is not the business.
I have told the story of how, in the last 15+ years, I’ve had more than 50 staff leave my business and try to replicate what we do, usually with the simple thinking: “I can do this too, after all, na we dey do all the work… is it not just juice, parfaits & salads?”
Unsurprisingly, most fizzled out before they got started. Not because they couldn’t replicate the product, but because they didn’t understand the business of building a business. A great product alone does not make a great business.
Of course, your product matters, but it is only one piece of the puzzle. Can you deliver the same quality and experience every single time, across different people, locations, and over many years?
Your real advantage is the ability to build, and keep building, long after the excitement of the original idea is gone. Here are some critical questions you should spend time asking:
- How do I distribute this product at scale, while maintaining quality?
- How do I systemise operations so the business runs consistently?
- How do I build a high-performance culture where people take ownership and standards don’t drop?
- How do I keep my brand top of mind in a crowded market?
- How do I acquire customers predictably and keep them coming back?
- How do I manage my finances properly so I don’t run out of money?
This, my friend, is where the real work is.
People can copy your product, underprice you, hire your people, and even copy the look and feel of your brand. But replicating years of hard-built systems, culture, customer trust, operational discipline, distribution, brand equity, and accumulated learning is a completely different matter.
A good idea may get you started, but your ability to build a business around it is what keeps the lights on.

Please, I know Church hurt is real. I want to encourage you to fan your flame back❤️🥺. I know the disappointment from us church folk is real but God still wants you to be a member of a sincere church.
A sincere church won’t be perfect, but it’ll keep striving to do God’s will. God doesn’t want you isolated. No piece of coal continues to burn brighter for long when separated from the others.❤️🥺

Hello !
You might just need this.
Please Read.
When you work with a leader or someone that stretches you beyond your comfort zone, and truly wants you to be a better version of yourself,
You have no idea what God is doing for you.
My late mentor, Pastor Eskor Mfon was never really
a professional musician per se, but was a great worshipper and one that had an ear for good music.
He would come into our choir room after we had spent hours rehearsing. He’d sit, cross His legs, rest his jaws on his palm, close his eyes and listen to what we had done. After a while, he’d shake his head, smile and heave an interesting sigh “aaaaahhhh !”, and then say to us “okay okay well done o, but we can’t give God this kind of worship tomorrow, let’s start again…” And believe me, another 2-3 hours of work…. He’d tell us, “you know we can’t take people to a place we have not been to ourselves…”
He would share scriptures, explain what ministry was all about, then sit with us as we slugged it out.
Anyway, those days would later become the foundation of my music ministry today.
Hmmm, There were days I thought “this stress is just too much” just to lead worship ??? But what did I know ? Poor boy ! My eyes opened one day, and I caught it.
The inheritance I got from him was not money and material things, even though he took good care of us. But the values, principles, work ethic, mind shift, wisdom, spiritual intelligence and understanding, emphasis on prayer, word, purity, integrity, character, excellence etc.
Today I honour him everywhere I go, because in hindsight, He was God sent - To a young man who only had talent, but with very little or no sense of direction.
So, to anyone out there, connecting with this post and perhaps in a similar place, I say receive GRACE to maximize the moment. Learn and glean all you can now, never despise the process, instead appreciate and honour it. For not everyone is privileged to have another man or woman who leave their own thing to sit on your matter, just to make sure you excel in life. It is a blessing !
And in case it appears to be taking longer than it should, may be, just maybe. you are cut out for the BIG TIME. And in no distant future we would be reading your own inspiring story.
But Please note ! Only make sure the person or leader is one that meets the criteria above - I.e, one who truly desires to see a better version of you and wants you to fulfill your prophetic destiny. And Not just one who seeks to hijack your life, control it and put in under lock and key.
Blessings
🙂

Why isn't Nigeria rich?Bad government? Corruption?
Or is there a more uncomfortable explanation: the way we think about money itself?

There is also a conversation we need to have with Christian men.
Because some of you speak about women with an underhanded disdain that is deeply un-Christlike, then hide behind “biblical order” to justify it.
You cannot simply look at every Christian woman who resonates with feminism and dismiss her as rebellious. History has shown women have had reasons to fight. The Church is not entirely innocent in the abuse and silencing of women. We have sometimes weaponized Scripture instead of rightly dividing it.
Some women did not become angry because they hate God. They became angry because people used God against them.
There are women who have been talked down to, ignored, diminished, spiritually manipulated, and emotionally controlled in church spaces while men quoted “submission” at them like a threat.
And when women begin to push back against that, you cannot automatically label them rebellious without enough humility to ask:
“What exactly are they reacting to?”
Because even in Scripture, God did not condemn women who challenged systems.
The daughters of Zelophehad fought.
They contended.
They challenged a structure that disadvantaged them.
And God said:
“The daughters of Zelophehad speak right.” (Numbers 27:7)
Not rebellious.
Not dishonorable.
Not with the spirit of Jezebel…
Right.
Some of you need to realize that being male does not automatically make your interpretation superior.
Statements like:
“Woman was created later, therefore she is lesser,”
“Eve was deceived, therefore women are inferior,”
“Men are naturally superior because Adam came first,”
do not make you sound spiritually mature. They make you sound biblically unintelligent.
Genesis 1 says:
“Male and female created he them.”
God did not create woman as an afterthought. He had both genders in mind from the beginning.
And Genesis 2 is not about superiority.
It is about order.
Order does not mean value.
Christ and the Church have order.
The Father and the Son have order.
Order is not inferiority.
In fact, biblical leadership is not domination.
Christ never used His position to belittle the Church, He died for her.
So how did some Christian men become more arrogant than Christ?
You brandish submission like a weapon.
You speak about masculinity like it is superiority.
You talk about women as though leadership means lordship.
News flash, you are not a biblical male. You are carnally minded and we all know what that means.
To lead in our Kingdom is to serve. Where is your service?!
And if creation order is your argument for superiority, then goats should be greater than men because animals were created before Adam.
The logic collapses immediately.
The truth is many women are angry because they encountered distortion disguised as doctrine.
Male ego preached as theology.
Misogyny defended with proof texts.
And instead of constantly rushing to call women rebellious, maybe Christian men need enough self-awareness to ask:
“Have we represented Christ properly?”
Because many women are not rejecting Christ.
They are reacting to men who looked nothing like Him.
Love and Light… with a sprinkle of Holy Ghost Fire.

If you are feeling down and things don't seem to be working, do this.
Get into a room alone, shut the door and begin to declare God's promises out loud speaking forth his blessings and strength into your life.
Do it until your mood changes and then you would have broken the back of a spirit which was trying to put you in bondage.
Repeat this every time a depressing feeling comes on you and sooner than you think it will be a thing of the past and a new season will be born in your life.
