Organisers Opening the Event By Sander Gansen #BananaConf2024 #BananaConf #Web3 #SanderGansen #SandertheApe

When we started planning BananaConf Tallinn 2024, coming from our 2023 event, our plans were huge! We had just hosted the biggest Web3 event in the Nordics & Baltics, receiving lots of praise from our attendees, with 100 speakers joining forces to establish Banana DAO(quiri). Although the financial analysis showed that we had lost way too much money on the event, we now had the power of the international community behind us. This made us dream big — we decided to host meetups at other conferences & fashion-specific event in Milan, preparing for even more bananas conference in 2024. The best part was putting together a community-led team with @frankNFT_eth, @Thenizzar, @ArminBar, @irishnftgal, @anereseth, @heyroyr, @Lockey374, @jacobhaap, @_GarageItalia_ and additional artists & founders helping out before and during the event. Since October, our team conducted over 250 interviews with potential speakers, contacted 400 companies and reviewed 1,500+ art submissions to put together the BananaConf Tallinn 2024 event. Six months later, we unpeeled the event, which attracted 589 delegates, 25% of whom were returning guests from 2022 or 2023. And it seems that we did well — at least the overwhelming feedback has been super positive! Of course, there were plenty of problems that occurred, including (1) Dubai floods caused many attendees/speakers to miss their flights, (2) Tallinn snow slowed down the morning logistics, (3) We forgot to check our dates against local school holidays, (4) We only had beer ready for the Executive Day (aka no water) + all the signage and other printing errors. But none of this really matters, as everyone who really wanted to be in Tallinn was there and found their way to relevant meetings and sessions. Yes, we'll try even harder for the 2025 event in Tallinn (and some others elsewhere before that), definitely involving more people in the team, as it has taken me more than a week to recover from the whole show we put together for you. That said, with an evergrowing international attendee base consisting mostly of incredible builders, we're happy to keep hosting this for you. (PS! Reach out if you'd like to get involved with the organizing team for our future events!) Next, we'll collect all the attendees' feedback for further analysis and investigate the possibility of taking BananaConf to Hong Kong while also hosting other events across Europe. (at the same time also building our other/main businesses further) One thing's for sure — for BananaConf Tallinn 2025, we're looking to explore case studies (examples of how innovative tech has been implemented by corporates and startups, revealing both mistakes and opportunities) and expand our focus on the technologies introduced to attract more industry leaders and developers to join the fun. Thank you for joining us at BananaConf Tallinn 2024, and we look forward to seeing you soon, somewhere around the world and/or in Tallinn!
