Am engineer who can't do math #Bathurst1000 #dewalt call the NRMA I've ran out of fuel
But hey, it wasn't that bad, and wasn't much force
Panthers confirm Nathan Cleary underwent surgery on an open (compound) double lower leg fracture - described as “the worst leg break they had seen.”
Provided there are no complications with surgery, they expect Cleary to require “up to 6 months recovery” (via @mrchrisnico)
Means Cleary fractured both of his lower leg bones, the tibia & the fibula, with the break being so significant the bones pierced the skin.
As noted previously the predictability of recovery time with an injury this significant is tough - so much room for complication with blood supply, nerves, fracture healing & infection.
It is not often an on field injury has a range of outcomes from a straightforward recovery to career altering/ending consequences - but this is one of them.
Cleary thankfully got immediate surgery & is in the best of medical care, fingers crossed he continues to avoid any complications.

Who else is old enough to remember this try being given?
Fox Sports handled the Best try call a LOT better than the Nine commentary team did.
Remind me why Nine have retained exclusive rights to Origin and Grand Finals again?

Bring back the Steelers
BREAKING: despite saying they will name an interim coach this afternoon, the Dragons have been unable to appoint one.
Dean Young had been set to be appointed - but the board could not come to an agreement to endorse him.
As a result the Dragons have taken the extraordinary step of cancelling training tomorrow as they try and work out a solution.
