We are responsible for all global warming since 1950, primarily from our greenhouse gas emissions. More importantly, 'business as usual' takes us far outside the range of climate to which human civilisation is adapted. This is reckless & irresponsible. We must enact mitigation.

Protip if you're trying to weasel out of the Euthyphro dilemma. Saying "god is good" doesn't get you out of the woods. It just relocates the dilemma to a different question. Is god’s nature good because it meets some independent standard of goodness or is it good simply because it's god's nature? If you pick horn one, goodness is independent of god. If you pick horn two, then calling god's nature "good" is arbitrary, and you've arrived at subjective morality. Either way, defining god as goodness doesn’t explain what makes something good, it just pushes the dilemma back a square.

The discovery of evolution took away the last plausible excuse for any rational person to believe in a 'god'. That's why so many theists hate evolution and rail against it so much - to no avail.

I think theists keep making this absurd claim that "morality is objective" because it's yet another way that the truth makes their chosen deity irrelevant. If morality comes from humans - which it clearly does - then it's subjective and no 'moral arbiter' is required.

Global temperature trend would basically be flat over the last 55 years without human influence

If the only thing keeping someone from acting like a murderer is the threat of judgment or the promise of an eternity, that isn't morality—that's risk management. Morality is caring about human harm now, because this life is real and people matter.
"I mean, first of all, if there is no eternity, there is no God, there is no afterlife, there is no judgment, it ultimately doesn't matter whether you live as a murderer or a missionary, whether you live as, say, Tyler Robinson or Charlie Kirk, because we're all going to wind up in the same place: nowhere. We're just going to go out of existence if there is no God, if there is no judgment, if there is no afterlife. So that's the most important message."

Acceleration of climate change? Look no further than sea surface temperature..
"The “statistial significance” of this model is overwhelming, i.e. we can resoundingly reject the hypothesis that global average SST has warmed at the same rate for the last several decades. It’s a lot faster now (about 0.3°C/dec) than it was before 2012 (less than 0.1°C/dec)."

#clowns get triggered when we talk about models in science. Here is example of models - each predicting slightly different track for an Atlantic storm. But they all predict an Atlantic storm over UK & France. All the models predict global warming caused by human GHG emissions.
Here is the latest ECMWF track of all the 51 member ensemble for the 00z run of the now named #StormAusten

So much of theists' time is spent trying to come up with excuses for their 'god' being entirely inevident. Just accept reality! 😀

This might not be the dumbest Tweet of the day, but it's a strong contender.
Probably more proof for the swordfish.

I don’t mean to be irritating or rude, but this is just so frustrating and extremely typical. An article about the near record temperatures we are seeing in October that doesn’t mention climate change, …that doesn’t mention the fact we just had the hottest summer on record, …that doesn’t mention the fact we’ve had the hottest May and June days ever recorded, that doesn’t mention that there’s record-breaking heat and rainfall all over the planet, …that doesn’t mention the fact that 2024 was the hottest year ever recorded and that 2026 may beat that record and scientists tell us it’s extremely likely that 2027 will, …that doesn’t mention that scientists are telling us the planet is continuing to overheat and that all of us are in growing danger. Scientists arent gently warning us - they are screaming at us to act. I do understand the media can’t focus on climate change with every single weather report but this is happening. It is real. The context is important. IT IS REALLY HAPPENING. It is so irresponsible not to mention the context of the fact that we are seeing record-breaking temperatures across the world. It seems the Media do not understand climate change and don’t want to learn about it. @itvnews @ITNProductions @itn

🌍 “This is no longer a warning for the future; it is a diagnosis of the present.” Our 2026 State of the Climate report finds 7 of 16 planetary vital signs at record extremes. The planetary emergency is already here. doi.org/10.1093/biosci/biag1…
