Nice work @JoshHQ Migrating from PHP, web server plus database, to one secure, unstoppable, serverless Motoko canister, which keeps its data in persistent memory, is now super easy with AI. And then you can improve it fast. If you're on legacy web tech, just do it!
Keep the app. Retire the stack. The network runs it. Your team stops patching servers. Move to Motoko on the Internet Computer. movetomotoko.com/

Marc, the “agent habitat” question reaches all the way down to the cloud foundation. As agents gain authority over businesses (and public infra), the security, complexity, and control of that foundation become defining questions. In 2018, a16z backed @DFINITY as an “end-to-end computing platform.” And I quote, "It is led by Dominic Williams, a mission-driven and visionary founder who has set out to build a next-generation, decentralized world computer that can scale to billions of users." ICP now unifies application logic, persistent data, identity and web services through an open Internet cloud protocol, with guarantees for execution and state integrity enforced by the network. Governments are experimenting with their national software on it! It addresses security, resilience, operational complexity, and sovereignty together, changing what builders must assemble, maintain, and entrust to intermediaries. And thus clarifies and unifies the global cloud base. It also applies exceptionally well to the new agentic/AI-built Internet. What is your technical assessment of #ICP ☁️ today? If you dismiss it, make the architectural case. Intellectual honesty requires engaging the capabilities and trade-offs of the foundation your own firm helped fund—especially when describing the very future that makes it consequential. a16z.com/dfinity

DFINITY's Chief Business Officer, @PierreSamaties just wrapped an incredible panel session at @binance Blockchain Week on the future of the super app economy. “With @caffeineai, anyone can build any app, by talking to AI, for his/her own social network - driving the hyperlocal app market and economy” said Pierre, capturing the very essence of the super app economy. This is the shift: - AI is the builder. - Consumers are the driving force. - Creation is instant. - The internet is writing itself. #BBW2025

Why DFINITY has been different, from 2015 on — We held this truth to be self-evident: sufficiently advanced blockchain is just "internet cloud." Then we developed ICP through years of R&D at scale, rather than rushing to pump a token. Substance whose time is coming.

Take Bitcoin. BTC is money. It’s going to be about money. It’s about security, of course, but the security of money. Money, money, money. When discussing BTC, it’s natural to be discussing money, all the time - it’s the domain! Almost every other blockchain is a BTC clone with some feature added on top. ”Look, we’re faster”, ”look, we’re more private!” Faster and more private what? Money. Because they are all BTC clones, the domain is still money. $ICP is the first project to use blockchain tech to decentralize the application layer, and for the first time (because it’s not another BTC clone) the domain is no longer just money. It’s all of application space. Money is still part of application space. It would of course be nice with more DeFi and liquidity on ICP. But focusing on that sliver, and on how it stacks up to one million BTC clones for which ”money” is the *only* domain, misses the point that ICP can target a million more domains that the BTC clones can’t.

The future might be more wild. Besides the few mega-apps for billions, the next Internet allows for the billions to create software. Building sovereign (full-stack on-chain) software using natural language 🦄 ☁️ $ICP + @caffeineai xitter.gq/integral_wizard/status…
The total addressable market for Caffeine.AI is astronomical. Take all the independent creators, small businesses, and other organisations. And consider the usual use cases, like landing pages, booking, webshop, CRM, inventory, newsletter, blogs. Now add all the webpages that could exist IF it was easy and cheap to create one - temporary pages for events, school projects, friends and family. However you look at it, we are talking about 100M+ software systems that could (and should) be created and/ or migrated to the open cloud protocol. To the Self-Writing Open Internet. By just talking... What about other AI tools like Cursor, ChatGPT, and other website builders like Wordpress, Wix etc? The difference between them and CaffeineAI is the underlying infrastructure. CaffeineAI is living on the #ICP and inherits all the superpowers of the next Internet protocol. It makes all the difference. For example, it uses a new Motoko language designed for AI and the agentic cloud environment. It has native Bitcoin/ crypto integration. It enables full ownership of the software as centralized cloud provider is replaced with a cloud protocol. It's a more efficient, transparent, and tamper-proof solution for the individual and the collective. @caffeineai is a paradigm shift squared - (1) build and update software using natural language (2) on sovereign crypto cloud protocol. It's the iPhone of Web3 and the catalyst for the next Internet protocol. Not only it will exemplify why ICP is the One, it kind of breaks the Internet (dot-com type of crash vibes). Nobody is prepared for what's to come.

This is the second chapter of my exploration into $ICP — and honestly, I didn’t expect to write it so soon. After publishing Part I, one question kept circling in my mind: Why have blockchains failed, for so many years, to host real applications? The deeper I dug, the clearer it became: Most blockchains maintain an eternal ledger. Almost none of them provide an execution environment where an application can actually live. And that led me to a conclusion that felt almost uncomfortable at first: Most chains can record applications, but they cannot host them. Only ICP can actually run an application on-chain. Why? Because the Canister + Subnet model is not about optimizing TPS —it is about giving applications a runtime, something that can execute, evolve, and still be cryptographically verifiable. And this matches perfectly with the ambition of @caffeineai: to make AI-generated applications not only runnable, but provably real. ======= My Experience with Caffeine AI ====== I tried building a simple X402 news aggregator: x402news-akn.caffeine.xyz Architecture: The flow is surprisingly elegant: 1️⃣It generates a spec.md from your idea 2️⃣It writes both frontend & backend in Motoko 3️⃣It deploys everything directly onto ICP It took multiple iterations — and plenty of bugs — to get it working. The vibe-coding experience is still not on the level of Vercel, not yet. But that wasn’t the part that shocked me. The Moment That Hit Me For the first time, I felt the sense of: “My application is actually running on the blockchain.” Not a contract. Not a transaction. A backend service — hosted on-chain, continuously running, callable, capable of initiating logic by itself. This capability simply does not exist on most chains. Smart contracts elsewhere cannot initiate execution; they can only react. ICP provides something the rest of the industry never built: a chain-level runtime. Why Caffeine AI is ICP's Best Gift But this isn’t just about another example of blockchain use cases. What makes Caffeine AI so compelling is how it brings the concept of "always-on" applications to life on ICP. For Caffeine AI, the focus isn’t just on building apps — it’s about building verifiable, persistent, on-chain applications that continue running, evolving, and improving without stopping. That’s exactly why Caffeine AI is the best gift ICP could receive: It’s not just showcasing ICP's technical potential; it’s pushing ICP's true power into the real world. It’s opening the door for more developers to easily build applications that are guaranteed to stay alive as long as the nodes keep running. Could Other Ecosystems Do This? Theoretically, yes: - Commit hashes on Ethereum - Store code on Filecoin or EthStorage - zkVM for verifiable execution - Git-driven vibe coding like Vercel with on-chain commit attestations Yes, you could stitch together a “verifiable upgrade pipeline”. But here’s the thing: When you deploy with @caffeineai, your app lands inside ICP’s runtime. As long as the nodes keep working, your application stays alive. This liveness guarantee — this sense that “my app is truly alive on-chain” — is extremely hard to replace. And that’s exactly why I had to write Part II.

Yep, A LOT OF crypto niches. Endless. Though basically it's all DeFi/ tokenisation. It's missing a foundational change. Crypto applied not just to finance but to the entire software stack. You're missing the cloud protocol, all on-chain software. xitter.gq/integral_wizard/status…

This well articulated post from @xiao_zcloak deserves more attention. ICP’s existence, a stubborn and resilient one at that, is a very uncomfortable inconvenience for the rest of the crypto industry. Because ICP does a better job at their own home court game, not just in one court, but like +10 courts. Many Vitalik’s wishful thinkings are already a reality on ICP. V is visionary and all that, but he’s outdated. I’m sorry. If other L1s recognize ICP’s prowess, they would have to admit their own roadmap is simply a futile attempt to catch up with ICP. That’s why a16z would not publicly mention ICP in their laughable industry report. Dixon’s book two years ago basically described what is already available on ICP. That sounds embarrassing and awkward, but it doesn’t have to be like that. Because ICP can be a middware layer that makes every other L1 better, being more decentralized, more secure, less dependent on AWS. You do what you do. Let ICP replace your AWS (indexer, sequencer, website, storage, all that jazz) and cross-chain needs (bridgeless, obviously), the two things ICP is exceptionally good at. Then the industry will be a better place and we can all go down into the sunset holding hands together. $ICP #ICP
That said, there are reasons ICP gets suppressed. You’ll notice that if any single ICP feature became widespread, it would essentially wipe out an entire sector of the industry. Built-in, free oracles—the oracle sector is gone. Smart contracts can directly sign transactions on other chains—chain-abstraction sector, gone. Trustless connectivity between any two public chains—the cross-chain bridge sector, gone. Smart contracts with native, large-capacity storage—data-storage blockchains, gone. Contracts can directly generate threshold signatures—MPC and embedded-wallet sectors, gone. The most flexible account-abstraction in the space, able to directly control assets on other chains—AA wallets and multisig wallets, gone. Transfers are the fastest in the ecosystem with the smoothest UX—high-throughput chain sector, gone. Reverse gas fees—those touting “use stablecoins to pay gas” as a differentiator, gone. Full BTC nodes running directly on ICP—the most decentralized and secure BTC integration—BTC L2 sector, gone. The most advanced identity-based cryptography in the industry—data privacy & encryption sectors, gone. Native WASM support—making it the best platform for verifying ZKPs; no matter how large the proof, verification costs are nearly zero, and results can be written to any other chain—those assorted ZK tricks invented to work around Ethereum’s limited compute, gone. A vibe-coding platform whose features and UX are better than those of actual AI companies, with one-click on-chain deployment—the Web3 + AI sector is basically gone too. The killer part is that ICP would drag the whole Web3 industry from a “tell a story, issue a token, pump, and rug” model back to a “build products, launch for real, and make money” model. No wonder it’s not exactly welcomed. 🤣

It's the first time I see Dom publicly engage with Elon Musk. And how does it refer to ICP during this first impression? "Cloud tech" ♾☁️ Absolutely 🔥 $ICP is an Infinite/ Internet $Cloud Protocol 😉
This again shows why important systems should run on ICP cloud tech. They must be tamperproof: cybersecurity is an ineffectual bandaid, and systems must be secure without it. There's no other way. Talk to us @elonmusk @Tesla happy to help nypost.com/2025/03/18/busine…

Caffeine just leveled UP! 🚀 Build an Art Deco team page based on a sloppy wireframe, a downloaded style reference, and a bunch of photos! 🎉 New feature: Multimodal support means you can upload more than one image (or other data) at a time. Caffeine will interpret the images together with your prompt. You now get much better control over the end result (without having to be a designer).

a16z and Their Crypto Fragmentation Empire Okay everyone, I’ve taken a look at this piece of shit, whatever it’s called, and I’m going to be straight up on this one. @a16zcrypto, and the organization as a whole, is corrupt, heavily biased, and not interested in decentralization or crypto principles at all. They’re intentionally investing in multiple projects because fragmentation makes them more money; that’s their model. They initially invested in $ICP alongside Polychain, but what @Dfinity is increasingly doing with its projects makes the tokens a16z is more heavily invested in obsolete, and that’s seen as a threat to their profit-driven VC business model. So the a16z "State of Crypto" report is not research at all; it’s portfolio marketing disguised as analysis. Every time it would’ve made sense to mention $ICP, they instead highlighted some idiotic project still in its speculative phase, focusing on something that’s already fully functional on the Internet Computer as if it’s nothing. $ICP is nowhere to be found, not once. So let me break it down simply, because this pattern of omission is getting pathetic and way too obvious at this point, lol. The Nonsense They Glorify What a16z does mention are the usual NPC projects: Solana, the well-known rug-pull network of fraudsters, praised multiple times; Ethereum and its Layer 2 "fixes" for its dysfunctional architecture, with Arbitrum (the best Layer 2, not gonna lie I use it), Base (I despise Coinbase, not even giving further context why), and Optimism (who even uses that nonsense, lol); Helium, used as a DePIN example (what a joke, lmao); and even smaller projects such as Kalshi. What they conveniently ignore, however, is $ICP. There’s no mention of its native Bitcoin integration without bridges, zero acknowledgment of on-chain AI despite dedicating an entire chapter to AI+crypto convergence, no mention of full-stack on-chain applications, and zero recognition of decentralized cloud compute that’s actually real. What a16z Pretends Doesn’t Exist To go further on their AI+Crypto section, it’s honestly pathetic. They talk about "blockchain solving AI’s trust challenges" yet totally ignore the Internet Computer’s on-chain AI stack with @CaffeineAI and its GPU-enabled Gyrotron milestone. They discuss boring bridges like LayerZero and Circle CCTP but skip over the Internet Computer’s threshold ECDSA and native Bitcoin integration, both designed to make bridges obsolete. They brag about developer growth on Ethereum and Solana but ignore the Internet Computer’s 500+ active developers and 100K+ deployed canisters, all with a much smaller market cap. Even in the infrastructure section, where $ICP literally redefines blockchain architecture itself, there’s complete silence. So to conclude this nonsense, the "State of Crypto" isn’t analysis; it’s a VC cash grab wrapped in fake research. a16z praises every duct-tape project that feeds their fragmentation profit model and ignores anything that threatens their control. $ICP nails every metric in their own report, AI, DePIN, scalability, developer activity, yet it’s erased because it breaks their Ethereum–Solana puppet show. This isn’t ignorance believe me, it’s deliberate. Their empire depends on keeping crypto fragmented and in their centralized control, exactly what the Internet Computer’s existence threatens to destroy.
Our latest State of Crypto report is here. The main theme for the year is the maturation of the crypto industry: • Traditional financial institutions and fintechs launched crypto products • DeFi and stablecoins went mainstream • Blockchains got faster and cheaper • The regulatory shift in the U.S. revived builder confidence Find the full 2025 State of Crypto report here: a16zcrypto.com/posts/article… See below for a few highlights.
