Just been to vote in St. Pancras, and when I told the polling station staff that I was voting Green, they gave me a little smile and then handed me fifty ballot papers instead of one. The person next to me was a Reform supporter and they only gave him one, and when he complained the lady at the table swung her handbag at his head and knocked him out, before dragging him out through the back door. Then everyone stood up and clapped as I filled in my pile of ballot papers and slotted them into the box.

Kedar documented via IDF archives that Haganah/IDF ran Operation Cast Thy Bread in 1948, adding typhoid bacteria to wells in Arab villages and Acre’s supply to deter returns and hinder armies. It began in April (pre-state) and continued after May 14. Effects were limited; some illness occurred in Acre. Israel denied it at the time.
