That’s obscene
The slowest journey per mile in the UK?

So start at Chester then go to Liverpool then go back to Chester?
It’s literally quicker to change from Euston to KX than it is to go from one end of Leeds station to the other

Yesterday afternoon nothing was moving north of Warrington with severe delays
And Carlisle to Newcastle line was closed with trees on the tracks
Leeds to York line shut all week for repairs
Only reliable direction of travel was moving south and getting across to ECML

Yeah so under 5 hours with one change on good trains which serve food and both risk minimal damage to delicate high value luggage
Or rough it by bouncing about on 5 local regional trains but maybe save half an hour if no connections get missed, and if multiple do it could add several hours onto the journey
Obviously under time pressure out on the fly I’m picking the most reliable option
Why is this so hard for you to comprehend
Had a large, delicate, and high value baggage item I would never risk being bashed about down in a bus hold

No it’s not this one is all week
Unless you take the regional Northern diversion line and add an extra hour and change to your journey
