3/4 AndromeDA detects diffusing dopamine as well as discrete dopamine release events, which appear as 'hotspots'. Hotspot detection was made possible by DART - a machine learning-based algorithm developed by Abed Choaib and Ali Shaib.

4/4 With AndromeDA we show that discrete dopamine release events are not detected at most axonal varicosoties, and that dopamine release is highly heterogeneous. We also verify that Munc13 proteins are essential in release. Excited to see what more AndromeDA can do in the future!

1/3 Finally out in @PNASNews. We developed a paint (AndromeDA) that visualizes dopamine release from neurons. Great collaboration of @ruhrunibochum @SolvationSci with @ElizarovaSofia, @jadaniel81, Nils Brose @mpi_nat tinyurl.com/2ey6nsau
