so the tiktok ban is just a huge internet restriction bill? it says using a VPN to access "banned apps" lands you a minimum imprisonment 20 years + a fine of either $250k or $1 mil. the president appoints someone to head a group that monitors anything that access the internet

the "TikTok" ban is a backdoor to basically full government surveillance of any computer "transaction". You do anything the government didn't like on the computer? Bam, 20 years or massive fines.
The bill to ban TikTok is absolutely terrifying. It gives the government the ability to go after anyone they deem as a national security risk at which point they can access everything from their computer to video games to their ring light. This is a Patriot Act for the internet.

DISASTER: President Biden today approved the Willow oil project in Alaska on the largest tract of pristine land in the US. This will create catastrophic pollution for decades just as the planet reaches the tipping point. Willow will have deadly results. theguardian.com/us-news/2023…

It's depressing to consider, but I suspect the demise of skiing in the Alps will prove to be far more consequential to the rich world's awareness of climate change than news that one third of Pakistan is underwater.

I've seen enough: Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) defeats Herschel Walker (R) in the #GASEN runoff, giving Democrats a 51-49 majority in the Senate.

Nobody wants to talk about abortion. I hear this daily. And it’s true. And we shouldn’t have to talk about it - it should be medical care that is available when needed. But it’s not. 1/

This is the Loire, the longest river in France. It's gone now. It evaporated. That hasn't happened in at least 2000 years, and likely not at any time in recorded human history.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The first photo is a fork of the Loire river, which is not always full even in normal conditions. Love this
A Bloomberg Terminal costs $24,000 per year. It's the portal to all the world's financial data. Unaffordable for 99% of us. Reserved for the Wall Street elite to outfox the normal investor. Until now:
Regarding the Secret Service deletion: IT must straight up say no to bullshit requests that will get you deposed. Employment isn't a fealty contract. Don't be their victim.

Hi @FedExHelp I have a package 588672890615 for which was delivery was never attempted and is now being held for pickup. I have called customer service several times to ask them to deliver it, and received false and conflicting information each time. Could you please investigate?

I called on Friday, and they said it would be delivered on Saturday between 9am-1pm. I called on Saturday morning, and they confirmed it was on the truck, and would be delivered between 2-3pm. I called Saturday evening, and they said they could not guarantee it would be delivered

and that I would need to drive an hour to pick it up by Thursday. It's Sunday, and the status on the delivery has not changed. Thank you for your help with this.
