Not paying K9 is the biggest mistake that the Seahawks have made since not handing to to Marshawn in SB49. Tell me I’m wrong.

BREAKING: Seattle’s business community is putting City Hall on notice over public safety.
CEOs from Microsoft, Starbucks, Costco, Nordstrom, T-Mobile, Alaska Airlines, Zillow, the Seattle Mariners, Puget Sound Energy and others signed a letter demanding Mayor Katie Wilson and the City Council take action to address public safety
They’re calling for CCTV cameras, more police patrols, a 7-minute priority 911 response standard, crackdowns on open-air drug markets, treatment or prosecution for repeat drug offenders, clearing encampments near schools and parks — and a public safety action plan within 100 days with measurable goals and monthly reports.
The letter specifically calls out Wilson's abysmal 34% approval numbers
Wow @TMobile @TMobileHelp continues to blow me away with their customer service! They nearly lost me as a customer after 24 years, and I lucked out and got the right person on the phone (ErinM) and she fixed everything and more. Also shout out JacarraB
who helped me today!
I talked to a mover near Seattle today.
He said he has been completely overwhelmed with the amount of people moving out of state right now. "Never seen anything like this before"
Way to go Rob Ferguson! @BobFergusonGov
WA state is cooked. (as the kids would say)
I still get goosebumps seeing @Tagboard in the wild! Love this use case by @ESPN!! Let's go @lindacohn bravo on a great career!

Jarred Kelenic is red-hot, including a week in which he hit 4 HRs in 4 consecutive days. After batting practice today, we talked about what has changed.
Kelenic, 26, is a former first-round draft pick of the Mets who has had over 1,300 at bats in the past 5 seasons with the Mariners and the Braves, with modest results given his pedigree.
The White Sox are hoping they can help Kelenic unleash his massive potential. I have to think he’ll get an extended look in Chicago at some point this season, especially if he stays on this current heater.
Interestingly, the @KnightsBaseball do not have any position players on the 40-man roster, as opposed 10 pitchers.
@FutureSox
Absolutely Unbelievable.
Bryson loses his drive in the water and still somehow manages a Par.
Richard Lee misses a 2 ft putt to tie.
Wow!
Congrats to @brysondech & @gregbodine7!!!!!! LFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been discussing the infamous WA Millionaires’ Tax with many people the past weeks.
I have been a Seattleite for almost 10 years now and my social circle is pretty diverse (Big Tech execs, entrepreneurs, non-tech/regular jobs, social workers etc).
It's very interesting to me that a) there are zero people who support this and b) the argumentation of why this is wrong is not coherent. Which is funny on its own because it means this Tax is wrong in so many ways.
The reasons I personally hate it:
> i have 0% confidence the State can use this extra money smartly/efficiently/effectively. it's 2026 and I still don't feel safe to walk with my kids in downtown Seattle. end of discussion
> from a meta/postmodern pov, all this is performative. the only purpose this Tax serves is for local progressives to perform a victory lap VS the bad rich guys. you can even see it from photos like this 👇. they play in a fictional robinhood type of universe.*
> this income tax may not apply to most people in WA but the trickle down effects in the local economy are already visible in conjunction with the already extremely high taxes in gas/sales/property. and I am not referring to howard schultz moving to florida (imo this is irrelevant). i am referring to local small business owners/entrepreneurs (xitter.cf/naynerz/status/2031902…)
I love Seattle so much and I truly hope it will have a thriving future. But there is a very pessimistic (and likely) scenario that Seattle, due to this Tax + the effects of AI in Big Tech, will end up as a mix of today's Detroit + summer destination whose economy depends on a 2-month tourist period.
🚨BREAKING: Washington State passes their first ever income tax. Incomes over $1M/year will be taxed at 9.9%. Married couples share A SINGLE $1M exemption, so if combined incomes are more than $1M, you're getting taxed. This will obviously eventually extend beyond millionaires. What comes for others, will eventually come for you! RIP Washington state!
Replying to @GovBobFerguson
You are a TERRIBLE governor. Honestly so bad.
- Starbucks is moving HQ
- Downtown core office vacancy has soared to 36%
- “Climate Commitment Act” and other fee increases are highly inflationary; it’s SUPPOSED to reduce CO2 but your own Dept of Ecology REFUSES to report CO2 levels. It’s a slush fund.
- You are refusing to hand over voter roll information so that people can be better assured of voter integrity
- You lie to moderates and fiscal conservatives all the time! SPARE us that you care at all about fiscal sanity, when per capita inflation adjusted spending in WA has SOARED more than 30% in the last decade. What specifically is 30% better?
- Schools are worse, roads are worse
- You’re raiding the PENSION FUNDS of our firefighters and first responders!
- You refuse to investigate the very clear signs of fraud at DCYF and elsewhere. Where is Tana Senn?

After 40 years (born and raised) I left WA. Moment is leaving this month as well.
I'm not even a millionaire affected by this tax. But when you add up all the costs to run a business in WA we can't afford it. You can build a remote team and re-open in Wyoming, removing all of these costs.
WA is incredibly beautiful (especially the summers) and the people are great. Unfortunately the numbers don't lie and unless you run a super high margin software business, WA is just too expensive.
Personally...you'd never pick WA to start a company.
- Gas taxes (now some of the highest in the state)
- Sales tax (up to 10.5% in Seattle)
- Property tax (1% of your home value with a path they can take this to 3%. In total $ this tax they have increased nearly 100% over the last decade)
- Capital gains tax (new in the last three years went form 0 -> 9%. it targets business owners and not real-estate).
- Estate tax (they recently changed it to a progressive system that is up to 35% just to the state of WA)
- Housing prices are some of the highest in the country.
- Food costs are unreal, just visit a Seattle restaurant or grocery store.
Business...
- Very little capital. Great angels but almost no VC or larger funding sources.
- Super high salaries for tech talent (this has changed but amazon, microsoft, etc paid very high rates for a very long time).
- B&O Tax: paid as a % of your sales.
- Sales & Use Tax (this is the real killer)
What pushed us out was the recent change to Sales & Use Tax. It used to be you paid this tax on physical things you bought for your business, similar to sales tax. Now you pay it on 100% of the items you buy, think shopify, aws, google, etc. Even if your team is remote you pay 10% sales tax on 100% of these purchases no matter where peole are located.
But the real kicker, was they expanced this law to be a tax that applies to all digital advertising. Run FB ads in Germany? You pay WA state a 10% tax. Overnight that is a+$200K a year tax that did not exist last year. Again not even based in where your ads run or where your team is. Incorporated in WA state? You will pay this tax.
What makes this sad is all political diversity disappeared years ago. It's that debate that keeps government from taking everything. One political team has run the state for +30 years and Seattle for more than 50 years. This train has been coming for years and is now accelerating. WA government can never have enough $.
I hope there is a new generation of company builders who see this is an opportunity and can run into the burning building.
The Millionaires’ Tax passed by the House represents historic progress in rebalancing our unfair system.
It sends significant dollars back to Washington families and small businesses.
It expands the Working Families Tax Credit to 460,000 additional households – that’s money straight back into the pockets of working families.
It saves working parents money and ensures our kids are prepared to learn by funding free breakfast and lunch for all Washington K-12 students, which has been a priority of mine since I ran for governor.
The Millionaires’ Tax will apply to less than one half of one percent of Washingtonians, but make life more affordable for millions. I look forward to signing it.
So the adults running @UHC and Evergreen Health decided that it would be fun to just stop working together… 2 days before I go into the hospital for some potentially expensive procedures. And this is after they dropped Regence forcing us to switch. 🤡 😡🤬
While New Mexico is leaning into the future, we're doing the opposite in Washington.
E2SHB 2515, which has a hearing tomorrow, REQUIRES that new or expanding data centers be served *exclusively by clean energy* from newly constructed facilities and would effectively stall all projects currently in development and make future projects impossible to finance. This bill is a disaster for everything from job creation to innovation.
Those data centers will just go elsewhere so please don't talk to me about green house gases... it's one planet.

Friends, Washington State SB 6229 (removes QSBS) is moving forward. No matter where you stand on raising income for the State, we cannot let this move forward as it will both decrease funding and damage an already struggling startup ecosystem. Our legislature is trying to kick us while we're down (startup formation is already in an absolute free fall) and we need your help to make sure that they know that.
Please email Senators and their legislative aides. Below are links to a sample letter and their contact information.
Personal outreach matters. Tell your startup story:
Why did you choose Washington?
Why this company?
How long have you been building it?
What does it mean to you and your team?
How would a 9.9% tax on QSBS impact your future here?
