ALT What Survives With a verklempt expression her gaze came to a rest on the first blooming meadow saffron. She hadn't been equipped for this. The evening held her condensing breath as glum drops fell on her cheeks. Autumn's choreography was still amazing, even though the rest of the world had fallen to pieces. The gridmark atmosphere of the present drove its jagged teeth into the moment, ravenous for her soul. Terrorised, her mind's eye stared over the edge of madness when lightning struck. This new normal was about to get the better of her. And once it did, it would forever be haunted by the first blooming meadow saffron. © Stefanie Neumann - @KokopelliBFree

ALT The haunted hours, when midnight opens its doors all the shadows rise from the graves beneath my skin and every secret I once buried comes back to light the ghosts of yesterday gather, like mourners dressed in grey reciting all the promises, that time has swept away I close my eyes, but I can still hear their voices beyond the ever-fragile veils, of my restless soul and when the dawn comes, they vanish with the night leaving no footprints, just ashes in the light ©Ann Bagnall

ALT I am still haunted by you in the quiet hours darkness quietly paints your silhouette against the distant sky and your scent still lingers in the falling rain and in the fragrance of a rose where my longing still resides, in the space between heartbeats I can still hear you in the restless wind and in the shifting sea and though the years have come between us you are still forever whispering in the deep chambers of my heart the cruellest kind of ghost, but the one who walked away and left your soul inside of me, as though the universe remembers what you once meant to me ©Ann Bagnall
