I think… this current ow story arc doesn’t hit for me because it lacks meaning. When the setting remains unchanged after the story’s been told, that can be fine if the characters themselves have changed! But we need to see them experience emotion beyond just anger and more anger

It's so insane because I was LITERALLY praying for this dynamic a few months ago. But seeing this now actually makes me sick. He regards her gently, while taking everything away from her a second time. I genuinely hope Vendetta never has to cross paths with Fraudfist again.

Back to our regularly scheduled Dominetta programs.. I think people talk a lot about Ven's obvious jealousy when it comes to Vaira, but in writing some dialogues between them, I feel like VAIRA'S jealousy would actually be a lot worse 😭😭

Like Vaira is a narcissist--her deeply rooted insecurities, along with being accustomed to Ven's possessiveness/attention, would probably make seeing her give attention to LITERALLY anyone else very aggravating. Ven is definitely possessive but Vaira highkeyy encourages it

i'd like to clarify a little bit; i don't think ow's writing teams, past or present, have been intentionally misogynistic with any character choices. but there've been blind spots that perpetuated misogyny. if vendetta doesn't get a future arc after ROT, this will be another one.

i don't think overwatch's writing is misogynistic and for the most part is equally empowering for characters of all genders. but i have noticed men get rehabilitation, redemption, and salvation from their dark pasts. a lot of the women aren't allowed the same growth

I will admit that expecting Doomfist (a man) to NOT just appropriate all that Ven built and hand her to Overwatch, even after openly admitting that she showed him his weakness and allowed him to evolve, was an oversight on my part. Sorry guys won't happen again 🙂‍↕️

With the fate of Doomfist and Vendetta being discussed, I’ve wondered about the intended result of their storyline. While Ven is a result of Doom’s worldview, I found they share even more similarities. To me, Ven reads as less of Doomfist’s enemy, and more as his successor.
