None publish the joyous news of a Democrat rout of America's neo-fascists. 😐 Let us hope they use their powers swiftly and wisely and suffer no party schisms. They have a tremendous amount of damage to fix caused by a madman and his hand-picked crooks. 😐 But today is a good day. We awake to a better world, the Doomsday Clock turned back a minute or so, and the sun is shining, at least it is here in Beater Edinburgh. 😐 The 'serious' press is full of King Charles' non-apology apology over the slave trade, the one England turned into a worldwide industry. Charles argues England was the first against it. Wrong! Scotland outlawed it in 1778, England in 1833. 😐 A glaring contradiction of colonials who admit African nations were kept down, brutilised by colonial lust illuminates Scotland under the same system. 😐 Readers can note that dispersing Scots from their land in tens of thousands forcibly in the same era is not defined as constructive ethnic cleansing. 😐 For all his sorrow, there was nothing to stop Charles apologising on behalf of the Royal family; he omits to mention that his aristocratic forbearers had shares in the human trafficking trade. Still, it was really humiliating to have his equerry with the brollies fast asleep while he and Camilla were drenched in a downpour of Commonwealth rain. 😐 No mention of the miracle in America leaves our pitiful press with little to offer. Headlines are empty warnings, this might happen, or that could come about. 😐 Scotland's Sun decides news of an officially anonymous sex pest makes good teasing headlines. A better story would be Internet social sites full of the disappearance from public life of David Walliams. Video of the creepy comedian wearing an action man cape, mask and full-on bulging codpiece while greeting children in a bookshop gig is there for all to witness. 😐 Edinburgh's Evening News reports the city's council invariably makes the wrong decision when looking after our streets and road surfaces. A plan - umpteenth over sixty years - to landscape and pedestrianise George Street, is pared back for lack of cash. 😐 Oh dear. Difficult to accept Edinburgh is Scotland's capital city when the first thing that greets you as you enter the city from the airport is a huge animated French JCDecaux billboard advertising consumer crap but does not state: 'Welcome to Edinburgh'.
