I was given my name by the Iroquois Nation many hundreds of years ago. By 1660 my name was printed on maps by the Europeans as they accepted the Native name which means Beautiful waters. In 1867 the Canadian government decided to use my name for their providence.

this piece demonstrates more clearly than anything i've read: the hysteria and hatred whipped up by the American right's cynical crusade against trans people is cruel, stupid and evil. God bless Julia Curlee. theatlantic.com/magazine/202…

The United States has now reported the highest number of measles cases in any year since 1991. And the year still has more than 5 months to go. This is an almost 100% vaccine preventable illness. Why is RFK Jr still Health Sec?

I'll just say it again: They know they're lying. We know they're lying. They know we know they're lying. We know they know we know they're lying. But they just keep lying.

As we watch things spin out of control in the Middle East I can't help but recall, and I've said it many, many times before and I'll say it again: one human being should not be able to have all this power. The Founders didn't want it that way and they were 100% right.

Here's the full testimony of Luke Ganger—brother of Renee Nicole Good, who was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Jan. 7—delivered minutes ago. "These encounters with federal agents are changing the community and changing many lives—including ours—forever," he said.
NEW: Renee Good's brothers—Brent and Luke Ganger—were announced as additional witnesses in tomorrow's 3pm ET Congressional hearing "on the violent tactics and disproportionate use of force" by DHS agents. They join the Good family's lawyer, another CBP shooting victim, and others

On its face, ICE targeting the Native community in Minneapolis seems weird, until you look at Kristi Noem’s history as South Dakota’s governor. You can’t get much further from the US-Mexico border than South Dakota. 🧵

It's that magical time of year when private jets descend on a Swiss mountain village to discuss climate change and poverty! Anyway, here's my annual reminder. I'll stop posting this when they stop avoiding the real issue: their own massive tax avoidance 💰

I worked with the Biden White House and DOJ to develop a policy on when can federal police shoot at a moving vehicle. DOJ adopted it in 2022, and as far as I know, it hasn't been repealed. Here's what it says: "Firearms may not be discharged solely to disable moving vehicles. Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless: (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means other than the vehicle; or (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, and no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle. Firearms may not be discharged from a moving vehicle except in exigent circumstances. In these situations, an officer must have an articulable reason for this use of deadly force." You can find the policy here: justice.gov/archives/ag/file…

Dershowitz, who helped Jeffrey Epstein get this sweetheart deal, knows full well that there were almost three dozen dozen girls, ages 13 to 17, who were named in a list that accompanied this plea deal. The final plea PAPERWORK was manipulated to pick just one victim -- and his lawyers made sure they chose the oldest one so that it didn't look so bad. But the girl who came forward first to police was 14 -- and the list of other victims attached to that deal included many young girls.
Alan Dershowitz: The predecessor on your show described Epstein as a convicted pedophile. He pleaded guilty to one count of having sex for money with a 17-year-and-10-month-old person. That’s not a pedophile. @Acyn

Epstein's plea deal listed nearly three dozen girls aged 13-17, but the deal focused on the oldest victim. The first girl, who went to the Palm Beach police with her parents, was 14. Dershowitz, who was on his defense team and pushed for the lenient deal, knows this. miamiherald.com/news/local/art…

As for why Biden and the Democrats didn't release the criminal case files -- Maxwell's criminal case was still OPEN during the Biden administration. She wasn't convicted until late 2021, and then she appealed her conviction. Generally, it's not a good idea to open your evidence files when a criminal case is ongoing. We also don't know whether the FBI was *still* investigating other possible suspects who helped Epstein or participated in his crimes. If you are still targeting suspects, you don't want them to know you are zeroing in on them.
