In November 2021, a fisherman found body parts in McKay Bay, an arm of the larger Tampa Bay. The body was identified as Stephanie Crone-Overholts, after police released photos of her tattoo, 3 hearts including the name of her son. Police arrested Robert Kessler for drug charges first, and then they found evidence of Stephanie’s blood in his van and home. Stephanie was living with Kessler, and it is believed that they had a falling out, which led to her murder and dismemberment. 😢 After 5 years, his trial starts today in a Hillsborough County courtroom. Two days ago, Kessler said he wanted to represent himself, but he literally changed his mind this morning, and he’s back to having defense counsel. Justice for Stephanie 🩵

An American Airlines flight attendant who used her travel benefits to fly to a 75-year-old Palm Coast woman’s home as part of a sweepstakes scam is in custody after a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office investigation led to her arrest in Miami. Late Friday evening, U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested Destiny Blake, 24, of Brooklyn, New York, on a Flagler County warrant as she arrived at Miami International Airport on an international flight. The scam started in November 2025 with a phone call. The caller, who claimed to be with Publishers Clearing House, told the victim she had won. To collect her “winnings,” the victim was instructed to mail a $500 gift card to “Destiny Blake” at a Brooklyn address, which she did. During this time, the victim was also locked out of her own email account. The password had been changed and the account switched to look-a-like address she never created. Between Nov. 15 and Nov. 19, 2025, the victim withdrew more than $14,000 from her bank. Blake received $14,220 in cash and Zelle payments. On Nov. 18, Blake flew from New York to Daytona Beach as a standby passenger using her flight attendant benefits and then took an Uber to a hotel on State Road 100 in Palm Coast. The next morning, an Uber dropped Blake off at the victim’s home just before 11 a.m. Fifteen minutes later, another Uber picked her up and took her back to the Daytona Beach airport. Before she flew home, purchases were made on the victim’s credit card at the Daytona Beach and Charlotte airports. Detectives determined Blake had been issued her own Apple Card as an authorized user on the victim’s account. A family member later found a note in the victim’s home with instructions to call the card company and tell them Blake was her granddaughter and was authorized to use the card. Between Nov. 16 and Dec. 11, 2025, 88 charges totaling $10,590.30 were charged to the victim’s credit cards. They included a $1,740.91 eBay order shipped to Blake’s Brooklyn address, $1,523.16 spent on Apple products and more than $1,300 spent at T-Mobile, Ugg, a Brooklyn hair salon, and dozens of Uber rides and Uber Eats orders. One Uber ride was paid in Jamaican dollars in Kingston, two days after Blake flew there while working for American Airlines. The online orders were done using Blake’s own name, email address and phone number. Detectives obtained surveillance video of Blake using the victim’s card at a Queens supermarket. Detectives also determined that Blake’s phone was in the area of the stores on the dates of the transactions. In total, the victim lost approximately $25,310. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Blake on Oct. 13, 2026 for the thefts and fraudulent charges. “Most flight attendants use their benefits to see the world. Blake used her’s to further a scam against a senior resident, live a lavish lifestyle using stolen bank cards and thinking she could get away with it,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Her wings were clipped by our detectives and with the help of CPB she was arrested. Her next trip? Flagler County to be held accountable for her crimes.” U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested Blake for organized scheme to defraud over $20,000 from a victim 65 or older, fraudulent use of personal identification information of a person 60 or older, and grand theft over $20,000. She was transported to the Miami-Dade County jail, where she was later released on a $30,000 bond. Families caring for an older adult can shut off many of the ways scammers reach them and take over their accounts. Ghanaian intelligence penetrated the CIA station in Ghana in the mid-1980s via a lonely operations assistant named Sharon Scranage. Sharon was only on her second day working at the CIA station in Accra in 1983 when she met a handsome local man who had been educated in the US. She was a divorcee and a recent engagement to another CIA employee had ended just two days before their wedding date. Sharon arrived in Ghana alone and adrift. Michael Soussoudis was a cousin to Ghanaian president Jerry Rawlings and, unbeknownst to her at first, an intelligence officer. He was a handsome, westernized man living a playboy lifestyle, and he gave her the attention and affection she was looking for. The two soon became lovers and Soussoudis gradually convinced her to pass him intelligence on CIA activities in Ghana. These included the identities of eight highly-placed CIA sources, and details of a pending insurrection against Rawlings. When Sharon returned to the United States in 1985, she failed a scheduled polygraph examination and confessed to her crimes. Afterwards the FBI used her to lure Soussoudis to the United States where he could be arrested at a hotel in northern Virginia. The arrest of Soussoudis led to the Ghanaian government quickly rounding up all known CIA sources in country and sentencing them to long prison terms. Sharon herself received a five-year sentence for her crimes but was released after two years. Soussoudis was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but his sentence was used as leverage against the Ghanaian government to force an exchange for the eight CIA sources and their families. The self-employed builder and bodybuilder swung the defenceless cat around, repeatedly striking him against the floor. Despite the animal needing veterinary treatment, Chapman instead cut his throat in what the court described as a “deliberate and gratuitous act”. Witnesses were left horrified by the “most horrendous, vicious, assault” on the helpless animal. Chapman pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to an animal between December 2018 and January 2019. He also admitted destroying a former partner’s mobile phone. Sentence: 18 weeks in prison. On the morning of April 15, 2005, Ray Gricar took a personal day. He was 59, the longtime district attorney of Centre County, Pennsylvania, home to Penn State. He'd been the county's top prosecutor for 20 years. He was eight months away from retiring. That morning he told his girlfriend he was going for a drive through the countryside in his red Mini Cooper. Around 11:30 a.m., he called her. He said he was driving through a scenic valley east of town. That was the last time anyone ever heard from him. When he didn't come home that night, she reported him missing. The next day, his Mini Cooper turned up in the parking lot of an antique mall in Lewisburg, about an hour away, near the Susquehanna River. His phone was inside, turned off. There was cigarette ash in the car. Ray hated cigarette smoke. People who knew him said he'd never let anyone smoke in his car. His luggage was at home. His clothes were at home. The only things missing were his sunglasses and his county issued laptop. He'd left the laptop's bag and power cord behind. Three months later, fishermen pulled that laptop out of the Susquehanna River, under a bridge near Lewisburg. The hard drive had been removed. That fall, the hard drive turned up on the riverbank. It was too damaged to recover anything. Then investigators made a chilling discovery. Before Ray vanished, someone had searched his home computer for "how to wreck a hard drive" and "water damage to a notebook computer." It got stranger. Nine years earlier, Ray's older brother had disappeared from his home in Ohio and was later found dead in a river. And years later, the world learned that back in 1998, Ray had declined to charge Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky after a mother complained about abuse. Police say they've never found any link. The FBI got involved. Interpol circulated his photo overseas. Sightings came in from all over. None were confirmed. Families in the stands. The kind of place where everybody knew everybody. Around 10:45 p.m., Morgan asked if she could go catch fireflies with a couple of friends near the parking lot. Her mom could see her from the bleachers. The kids ran around in the grass. Then they stopped to empty sand out of their shoes. Morgan sat down by her mom's car, by herself, just a few dozen feet from her friends. When her friends looked up, she was gone. That fast. Witnesses later said they'd noticed a man watching the kids that night. And a red Ford pickup with a white camper shell that left the area around the same time Morgan disappeared. The search was enormous. Police, the FBI, volunteers from all over Arkansas. Morgan was never found. Twelve weeks later, a man in a nearby town tried to abduct an 11 year old girl. His name was Billy Jack Lincks. Police questioned him about Morgan. He drove a red truck. But they couldn't prove it. He went to prison for the other attempt, and died there in 2000. For almost 30 years, the case went nowhere. Then in October 2024, police held a press conference. Years earlier, they had pulled a hair from inside Lincks's truck. New DNA testing linked it to Morgan's family. None of her relatives had ever been in that truck. The only person it could have come from was Morgan. Police officially named him as their suspect. But he's been dead for more than 25 years. He never said where she is. Her mom spent the last three decades building a foundation that has helped find hundreds of missing kids. Arkansas named its child abduction alert after Morgan. 31 years later, they believe they know who took her. They still don't know where he left her.
