Now tell us the true cost of the thousands of men who have entered the country illegally by boat, come on. How much to house and keep them warm, and feed and clothe and look after their medical and dental needs? Forecast THAT cost to us all to next sunmer.

Why do they repeat the same lies. What breathing space? And now it’s got worse with interest rates going upto to 4% under your watch. So now it’s going be even more expensive for mortgages and business etc. you aren’t helping one bit
Last week’s Budget gave British families and businesses much-needed breathing space for today.  But what does that actually look like for you? Over 20 million households will receive £100 to help with your energy bills. We’ve also extended the £50 VAT cut on electricity until July 2027 and are scrapping unfair gas standing charges.  If you drive, we’ve extended the 5p cut to fuel duty to July 2027. If you’re working hard on the National Living Wage, you’ll get a pay rise of £910 a year from April. If you’re saving for your first home, our Your First Home Scheme will help 70,000 people onto the property ladder. If you’re a pensioner living on the State Pension, you won’t pay a penny of income tax. If you’re a new parent, we’re extending parental pay to more than 160,000 more mums, dads and partners, including the self-employed. And at the supermarket, we’ve cut tariffs on more than 100 everyday products, from baked beans to chocolate. These are our choices. These are Labour choices, putting you first.

This is not democracy … it’s dictatorship. Burnham is negotiating a deal that could force UK taxpayers to fund poorer EU states, even though we voted to leave the EU and can’t even fund ourselves ! There is no mandate for this!

🚨WATCH! Andrew Neil has just delivered one of the strongest, most necessary interventions of the week on this absurd “mystery celebrity” high court injunction. He is completely right, and anyone in a position of power should be paying attention. He is clear-eyed about the ruling itself: “I’m delighted he’s ruled that way. I’m not so delighted he’s kicked it into the long grass and we still can’t name this person.” Then he gets to the heart of it: “It really is ridiculous to stop legitimate newspapers and broadcasters who’ve done a legitimate investigation into somebody’s behaviour which seems unsavoury to put it mildly, not to be able to publish because that person says he’s gonna kill himself. You might as well shut down the British media if that’s the case.” This is exactly the point. We indulge this sort of nonsense far too often in Britain. A celebrity with the means to hire expensive lawyers should not be able to muzzle legitimate reporting of serious allegations simply by invoking mental health or the threat of self-harm. Money must not be allowed to buy silence, and threats of this kind must not become a reliable tool for suppressing scrutiny. @afneil is equally sharp on the contrast with America. Speaking from the US, he notes that a case like this would never have seen the inside of a courtroom. The First Amendment would have stopped it dead. As he puts it, we need to stop allowing our media to be “cribbed and confined and intimidated by people who are trying to hide their own wrongdoing by muzzling the media”. The whole situation is made even more ridiculous by the fact that everyone already knows who it is. The name has circulated freely in Scotland because the ruling does not apply there. Yet the English media remain gagged from publishing their own investigation and the allegations themselves. It is a farce. We need to get much tougher on this. The more the courts entertain these applications, the more people will keep using them to bury inconvenient truths. Let the press do their jobs.

Burnham handing the moaning Caribbeans £40 million of OUR money following their slavery reparation demands is, and I don't use this word lightly, a traitorous decision.

PM Burnham really needs to move on from this performative ‘common man’ solipsism — it’s way past tedious — and start running the country.
Rule number one of being PM, especially when you got rid of the previous PM in a coup, is never complain about the job.

This is indeed extraordinary. It’s fixed. This government is destroying Britain and doing it quite deliberately. Who gave them such a stinking great majority that they can do it? 🤔 - you know who that was.
Extraordinary. Just 18 per cent - 36,000 - of the 202,000 people who responded to the consultation on the Home Office's crackdown on indefinite leave to remain were British citizens. Three quarters were "current visa holders". Critics now asking if it is any wonder Shabana Mahmood's immigration reforms were watered down. More now on @GBNEWS.

Agreed. British TV, for all its tedious boasting about being dominated by public-service broadcasting values, no longer even contemplates this sort of documentary series. It’s too busy with Strictly and Love Island.

Cannot imagine ITV or BBC producing anything like this now. Only programmes I’ve seen to compete are Ken Burns’s Vietnam and The Civil War.

Diabolical officiating throughout, but a beautiful parting gift from one of our own gets us the very least we deserved out of that. We weren’t the best at times, but once we got it on the deck we played some good stuff, certainly weren’t at our worst either when it was going against us, a step in the right direction after the last two results. Never seen a team so eager to cheat and go to ground as Barnet. A week of cup games now, hopefully some needed game time for some Tuesday and a good showing and into the hat on Saturday. I hope this is the start of another unbeaten run, let’s see. 👀 UTA! ❤️🚂 #CreweAlex

Another top class gesture from the club today. Not many EFL clubs have the Chairman giving a signed shirt away to a fan led podcast celebrating a milestone No. Of episodes. Thanks to all at #CreweAlex for today! No better club, in my eyes
