DC SAYS RUN, AOC, RUN! 🌹🏃♀️
Metro DC DSA has passed a resolution by supermajority to urge AOC to run for president in 2028!
AOC can take on MAGA, unite working people, and inspire millions.
The road to 2028 starts NOW! We have a movement to build and a country to win!

Look out for @inthesetimesmag sharing soon my history of the DSA’s Sanders for prez endorsement processes.
There seems to be some revisionist history it wasn’t contentious in 2020. Very much was.
Who’s the left candidate in 2028?
- no one knows
- frmer AOC spox tells me if she decides to run, it shouldn’t be bc there’s no one else
- DSA tells me if AOC runs & they consider endorsing her, it’ll be more contentious than when they backed Sanders

Hello, @RepJeffries? I'm reaching out to you as my Congressional Representative to ask that you do not vote for Hakeem Jeffries for speaker.
Journalists when it’s time to talk about themselves
One of my journalism students was thrown out of a DSA watch party and lived to write about it (and how it's an example of the broader trend of restricting press access across the political spectrum).

I agree Mr Cain the entitlements are out of control. You start with one price but then it balloons to no end.
It’s time to cut entitlements to companies like Raytheon that get fat off of the tax dollars of hard working Americans

Would you rather have your taxes paying for all this stuff, or trillions more in military spending & even more tax cuts for billionaires…
Workers deserve more!

Today, Kareem launches the Capital Commonsense meter.
The more grating and uninteresting they get, the more the trash fills up
Today Capital Commonsense launches a
needle. Our next mayor Janeese Lewis George can take the path of Zohran Mamdani or Brandon Johnson—progressive pragmatist or true believer. Our model will seek to evaluate in a rigorous way how she’s governing. open.substack.com/pub/capita…

A striking stat re AIPAC performance in the midterms. In 2022, almost 70% of its funds went into races where it got the desired result. In 2024, it was 87%. In 2026, that figure is 34%.

If aber has no supporters I am dead
Last night, we celebrated a people’s victory. 16 Democratic Socialists elected in New York. Abdul El-Sayed and other pro-Palestine candidates won across the country. The people have spoken and are demanding candidates who demonstrate moral clarity and the willingness to fight alongside our movements for economic justice, immigrant rights, climate action, and against war and genocide. This year is a turning point in our fight, from the local level to across the globe. Our victories present a hopeful alternative to both Trumpism and the Democratic establishment and we’re only getting started.
Thank you to the over 1100 volunteers who’ve believed in our campaign and provided the people-power needed to get us across the finish line. Thank you to everyone who's been hard at work for years organizing, agitating, and building the foundation that’s led to our victories last night. Thank you to the communities of District 12 who we’re building this beautiful future with together and to the 47,000 voters who showed up to cast their ballots for our collective vision.
A better world is possible, and we’re building it here in the World’s Borough.
