We will revisit this post in 5 years for where Pathology is at. Signed from an amused Pathologist.
The top 3 medical specialties that AI should largely replace within the next 5 years: 1. Radiology 2. Ophthalmology 3. Pathology Any specialty heavily dependent on interpreting images, scans, or patterns is going to face ENORMOUS disruption. And this should ultimately mean faster diagnoses, much lower costs, and better access for patients. What specialty am I missing?

Everyone checks the diagnosis. Few check whose tissue it is. One study did what most labs never do: it tested almost 13,000 prostate biopsies to confirm the tissue belonged to the patient on the label. 0.26% were complete switches between patients. Another 0.67% contained tissue from a second patient. None had been suspected beforehand. A correct reading of the wrong patient's tissue is still a wrong diagnosis. #RightDiagnosisWrongPatient #PatientSafety #SpecimenIdentification #Pathology

Leadership is a rank or position. It does not mean that you are a good leader. Being personally successful with innumerable publications is likely a suboptimal way of indicating who will be a good leader. Am I wrong?
