Lumio Aura 5: The Complete Architectural Deep Dive
1) The Input Array
Six distinct pathways for ultimate connectivity: AUX (RCA), USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0 (with ARC/CEC), Optical, Coaxial, and Bluetooth v5.4. Whatever your source, the Lumio Aura 5 just works with it.
2) The HDMI Stage
A dedicated audio extractor isolates sound from the HDMI stream, and CEC support means your TV remote controls power and volume seamlessly. To save energy, the Aura 5 powers down completely when not in use and wakes up with your TV or projector.
3) The Main Brain
A unified audio processor handles every audio signal: the 24-bit/48 kHz DAC, real-time DSP, and amplifier control, all on a single chip. This removes the noisy signal handoffs between separate components that budget designs rely on. As acoustician Floyd Toole notes, today’s electronics can be essentially transparent, leaving the loudspeaker and the room as the real limits on what you hear.¹ Our job was to make sure the electronics stay out of the way so the speakers can do theirs.
4) Real-Time DSP & EQ
The built-in digital signal processor handles dynamic range compression with imperceptible latency. Switch between carefully tuned DGS EQ, Studio, Cinema, and Groove modes from the Minion OLED remote, or shape the sound yourself with the physical, chrome-plated Bass and Treble knobs. Real tone controls are there for a reason: recordings differ in spectral balance, and every room behaves differently, especially in the bass. Toole identifies this kind of adjustment as a legitimate part of getting good sound at home.¹
5) Power Architecture
A four-rail power system. The analog audio stage runs on a dedicated low-noise regulator, fully isolated from the switching electronics that power the digital brain. Less noise means the electronics stay transparent, so what you hear is the music, not the circuitry.
6) Smart Sequencing
The system holds the amplifier in shutdown during boot and releases it only once the audio path is fully initialized. That eliminates startup “thumps” and protects your speakers every time you turn them on. It’s a small detail that makes a real difference to your experience.
7) The Amplifier
Operating in stereo, the highly efficient amplifier turns power into sound rather than heat. In stereo, the soundstage is created mostly by the recording itself, through microphone placement, panning, and mixing.¹ So the Aura 5 doesn’t invent width or add artificial effects. It delivers the stereo image the artist and engineer created.
8) Acoustic Design
Housed in high-density, acoustic-grade wood cabinets with curved front baffles that reduce edge diffraction. Research shows that a flat, smooth frequency response is one of the strongest predictors of neutral, natural sound.¹ Broad cabinet and driver resonances can be audible at less than a decibel, so a dense, well-braced enclosure matters.¹ Each cabinet uses a true two-way passive crossover, splitting frequencies between a 1-inch silk dome tweeter and a 4.5-inch aluminum diaphragm woofer, tuned for a smooth handoff on and off axis. In decades of double-blind tests in ordinary rooms, listeners have preferred speakers with wide, well-behaved dispersion.¹ The Aura 5 is designed to sound right across your room, not just in one sweet spot.
9) The End Result
105 dB of continuous output, with peaks up to 112 dB. No shared headroom, no simulated width, and in-room bass extension down to 35 Hz at 80 dB. The bass is tight and accurate rather than bloated and muddy, and that matters: bass quality and quantity account for roughly 30% of how listeners rate overall sound quality.¹ As Toole puts it, the “best” sound is often the “least bad” sound,¹ and every stage of the Aura 5 is built to strip away coloration so only the recording remains.
Lumio
Tech that sparks Joy.

#Clayface is a film that truly deserves a #DolbyCinema release in Bangalore!
With its ultra-wide 2.76:1 aspect ratio, it’s best experienced on a wide scope screen like AMB Dolby Cinema. The film’s night-time sequences and stunning Gotham cityscapes could look phenomenal with the enhanced contrast, deep blacks, and HDR highlights of a Dolby Vision DCP.
Please give us at least ONE show at Dolby Cinema Bangalore! 🙏

The Q Luxon Experience
“LED is the future”, they said. A couple of years ago, I’d argue. A couple of months ago, I’d argue. A couple of weeks or days ago, I’d argue. But yesterday, something changed this belief inside me. I saw the future, I experienced Q Luxon at AAA Cinemas, Vizag.
I travelled 650kms from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam to experience Jailer 2 on Q Luxon and it was totally worth it! I’ve watched the movie twice before in different formats but this hit different. I’ve watched movies on LED before but this one is very special, from the moment I walked into the audi, I knew I was in for a treat. I was welcomed by a massive 71ft W x 29.6 H wall to wall pitch black Scope LED screen with super steep, all black seating. Once the screen turned on, I was in absolute awe because the FoV from the top row is as good as centre or any row really, the design of the Auditorium itself screamed brilliance.
There are a few experiences in my life I would never forget, My first IMAX 70MM experience, first PCX experience, first Dolby Cinema experience and now this. Once the content started playing on the screen, 10mins into the movie looking at the colours pop beautifully, looking at the blacks absolutely deeper than ever before, the bass hitting straight at my chest, the surround speakers dancing around, the overhead speakers wooshing right above me, the Screen just pulled me right in, it’s absolutely immersive. I silently teared up. Everything about It was absolutely beautiful.
Evolution of Cinema Exhibition has seen Reel based projection, Xenon Digital Projection, Laser and Dual Laser Projectors, LED Screens and cut the chase to now, Acoustically Transparent LED Screens.
When cinemas introduced LED’s as a format, there was always the issue of sound because the whole setup of LED panels was just a wall. Unlike traditional cinema screens which has tiny holes to let sound pass through from hidden speakers behind the screen, solid LED walls blocked sound. This forced theatres to place speakers around the LED screen (above, below or to the sides), causing a slight disconnect when an actor is speaking on the screen and the sound would come from the ceiling or floor.
Acoustically Transparent LED solves this problem completely by allowing speakers to be where they’re supposed to be- right behind the screen, apart from the surround speakers ofcourse.
Q Luxon is 100% DCI HDR compliant and it shows why, the colours are just as good as as you could watch them on an OLED TV at your home but on a massive scale, the screen is perfectly calibrated and I found zero issues with it. The audio being as good as it was is just a bonus! The bass hits perfectly and the atmos tuning is absolutely on point with zero audio crosstalk. The entire auditorium is equipped with 64 ch dolby speaker setup. As the end credits rolled, I walked near the screen to observe the audio coming from Left, Center & Right channels individually while still being in disbelief.
Watching Jailer 2 in both SDR, Dolby Vision and HDR made me realise just how good LED is for HDR content or just any content because the sharpness of the image is unmatched, the contrast higher than any projection system.

Some days X makes you blow money on things you don’t need. Other days, it saves you.
I was this close to picking up a KEF LSX II for my vinyl setup - mostly because of the way it looks. Yes, aesthetics matter.
Then Lumio dropped the Aura 5: similar vibe, a fraction of the price. ₹20K vs ₹1.4L. Even if it delivers 50% of the KEF, that’s still worth it.
Hope this doesn’t disappoint @kailazh

A rather fun part of investing in consumer brands is getting to experience a product before it hits the market.
During a recent chat, @kailazh and @RaghuReddy505 brought over the new @LumioIN Aura 5 speakers and despite not being an audiophile, I could hear the difference between this and my soundbar at home.
Sharing a BTS of my first experience. You have to hear it to feel it.

Why we're launching bookshelf speakers
My earliest memory of good music was a Pioneer cassette player with two massive wooden speakers we had at home in the 90s.
I wore out more cassettes on that setup than I'd like to admit. Those were the days when you could sit with the music, no phone in hand, and just chill.
Music has had an incredible run.
Cassettes gave way to MP3s. MP3s gave way to streaming. Streaming became lossless. You now have studio-quality sound on your phone.
Music has never sounded better.
And what about how we listen to music at home?
The wooden stereo pair gave way to the big double deck music system, with PMPO claims that could deafen the neighbourhood.
Then came the 5.1 home theatre systems, with enough wires to circle the earth.
And now, Soundbars. Sleek, minimal, simple.
But were they really a step up?
Speaking from experience: not really.
My 5.1 set has survived two house moves. But it's still in the box. The weekend where I was supposed to set it up never came.
My soundbar barely gets switched on. Dialogue is muffled, so I turn it up. Then an explosion hits, and so does the death stare from my wife. Volume down. Switch off. Repeat.
Here's the strange part.
Ten steps from my living room is my home studio, where I play guitar and make beats as a hobby. Nothing fancy, just a pair of bookshelf speakers on my desk. But on those, a track opens up. I can hear where the vocal sits, the singer's breath before a line, the pick hitting the string, the reverb trailing off into the room.
The kind of detail I could never catch on the soundbar in my living room.
The difference is physics. Stereo needs two speakers, spaced apart. Cram everything into one bar and you get the volume, but not the feeling.
Thankfully, at @LumioIN we have our fair share of serious audiophiles @laurelsudeep, @kdcloudy, @sarthak9394 and @Abhish3k89 who all felt the same way. So when we decided to get into audio, there wasn't much debate. It had to be Hi-Fi bookshelf speakers.
There was just one catch. For most people, bookshelf speakers in the living room meant decision fatigue and endless rabbit holes. Which amp? Which DAC? Which cables? Three YouTube videos later, we're off checking out "best soundbars under 30k".
So the real job wasn't just great sound. It was great sound that's as easy to set up as a soundbar.
That's @LumioIN Aura 5.
Two wooden speakers. Amp and DAC built in. Connect, plug in, play. No receiver, no rabbit holes. Put them by your TV, on your desk, or just pair your phone.
Movie night gets dialogue you can actually follow, with a Cinema mode that brings voices forward. Your playlists get room to breathe, with the vocals in front of you and the instruments spread across the soundstage. And all that lossless music you've been streaming finally gets speakers that can keep up.
As our marketing team put it, pun intended : Hi-Fi Sound. Bar None.
Aura 5 lands on Amazon India for the Great Indian Festival at ₹24,999, with an early bird price of ₹19,999 Plus bank offers on Amazon.

Today, we’re launching Lumio Aura 5.
The response to our TVs and projectors has shown us that Indian consumers want products that combine serious performance with a simple, thoughtful experience.
We’re taking that philosophy into a new category with Lumio Aura 5, a pair of Hi-Fi speakers built around simplicity, fidelity, and versatility.
With Aura 5, we’re bringing proper Hi-Fi audio, with wooden cabinets, dedicated drivers, and an expansive stereo soundstage, in a setup that’s as simple as plug and play.
The pair delivers 100W sustained and 200W peak, reaching 105dB SPL at one metre. Bass extends down to 35Hz at 80dB, giving music and movies a fuller low end and real weight, no subwoofer needed.
It supports lossless playback up to 24-bit/48kHz, and connects to your TV, computer, or phone through seven input modes.
We wanted this to be a pair of speakers you could use throughout the day, across the devices you already own.
We also want to take this moment to thank our community for helping shape how Aura 5 sounds. We worked with enthusiasts on our DGS tuning, with Studio, Cinema, and Groove modes offering different profiles for whatever you’re listening to.
Aura 5 goes on sale soon on Lumio Store and Amazon, with an early bird price of ₹19,999.
